So, reading through the DAII Tech Support for PS3 has me pretty scared about buying the game now.  Lot of Freezing going on.  I could get it for 360 or PC, but since I played on PS3 for DA:O, I'd like to stick with that.

One problem/solution mentioned was having too many save games can slow down a load screen.  I noticed in the DA2 Demo going from the character creation screen to the "real story line" part, I had a huge pause with spinning load icon.  I actually thought the demo crashed.  Occassionally I would get these looong "sync" pauses when DA:O would check save data also.  Well, I have 96 saves.  I tend to do incremental saves - it's a work habit that I guess carries over to games.

Anyway, I was going through them on the PS3 tool to possibly delete most of them.  I came across about 3 that have no description, just the line:  <MadridSplit18/>

What is this file?  Is it safe to delete?  It isn't the file that is used to transfer your character's choices to DA:2 is it?

I wouldn't delete it. I"m not sure waht it is, but since it's only made at the end of each game, I would bet it's the file for DA2. I could be wrong. I don't have as many saves as you, but I kind of just put up with it. I'd hate to have to redo it all.

I'd check the DA2 forums for any info on save game transfers. I googled the file and found nothing.

Since you have DA2, maybe take a witch hunt one. Delete the madrid. See if you can import that character from the WH save. If it works, you know you can delete them. If not, you're three feet from getting it again.

I deleted all my files that had that description in my PS3 version of Origins and it hasnt affected anything related to DA2 at all. Im not sure what those files are but they dont seem to be important whatever they are.

The madridsplit is the epilogue save from Origins, which is created right after slaying the Archdemon. If you have the save from WH, then I'd say the madrid is of no importance to you, but better safe than sorry..
