The Emergent Compendium - anyone read this codex entry who knows what it's talking about? Appears to be some kind of code... a secret hint at what part of Thedas we might be venturing into next, like those found in DA:O's codex perhaps?

For those who haven't seen it, I don't want to copy the whole passage out but basically it's about an ancient book inside which writing and illustrations rapidly appear and disappear along with a line or two of "gibberish," depicting people and events near and far, including the authors wife. The end goes as follows:

--------

The newest pages:
-A newborn of Rivaini complexion subtitled "bE qIK"
-A hornless Qunari with braided hair, subtitled "viqpbkle abfi vlskb beQ"
-My wife again! Subtitled "illc x akxypre obe ,prqflz qpIM"
-Two shadowed spheres among stars subtitled "aboofqp iboxE'kbC px bpmfizb kX"

-- The notes of Scholar Bodaliere on the Emergent Compendium in the Original Tongue, author unknown

-------

I find it intriguing... but before I go wasting away time trying to puzzle it out, does anyone already know what it means? The first entry seems like it may refer to Duncan, and the second entry to Sten. The rest; no clue. Any takers?

edit: P.s., I'm too lazy to copy out or otherwise capture the full text at the moment, but it may (more than likely) contain clues about where to start decoding it. If that is indeed what we're supposed to do with it.

I just read this. I'm curious too but haven't found a translation or anything yet. It's probably simply a letter replacement code but I'm not sure where to start.

I'm almost certain that the first one has something to do with Isabela(either herself, or perhaps a child she's been hiding?) and the second being Sten from the first game. The last one sound onimous.

It's a letter replacement cipher. Start with X=A Y=B, etc. Then, all the sentences are backwards.

Of the four phrases, X is the only single letter, so that's likely an A or I. Luckily it was A and I didn't have to write out a key twice.

The last one should be:

An eclipse as Fen'Harel stirred.

I'm pretty sure it's just a joke item. Most everything in the Black Emporium is.

Amazing, FarSide.

Hmm...what is He not? Who is He?

The second is self-explanatory, the third is funny but probably just a joke.

The last one almost sounds like a teaser...

FarSide's epic.

So, a Fen'Harel mention. There's quite a few Fen'Harel theories knocking around these forums as is. Nice work.

Not "He" (capital H). Hmmm. Someone of import to have a capitalized pronoun. Is it the Champion's baby with a certain Rivaini? Is it a certain Old God spirit in the form of a child born in Rivain?

In any case, it's not one of those. It's someone else. If He is a generalization to mean anyone of such a high standing, then it's a child that has origins of no significance.

Perhaps, Sandal is Rivaini (remember, he was simply found) and is a key factor in things to come.
