http://www.amazon.co...elldem reviews.

No doubt another  "raid" by evil secret organization that wants to badmouth this masterpiece of RPG that is Dragon Age 2 ...Is there a villainous deed these monsters will not do?

Can we stop with this threads, please? We got it. The game is not as good as DA:O and the users are bashing on it by giving it super low scores. Stop with these threads. WE KNOW!

Why are people fixating on reviews ?

Judge for yourself,
3 world wars were fought and people died so your generation can have a mind of its own and make decisions for yourselves.

I dont really know about other countrys but in the UK if a game box says 1 thing and the contents are another you can return it for a refund.
Despite the many flame fests here theres actually a surprising amount to read that would help you decide to buy it or not.

Remember, reviews are not written by God or some other diety, they are usually written by people who just want to jump up and down shouting "see me,hear me,i exist, look at me,look at me"

But what if the person wears a white lab coat? And he says the game blows? Should i still judge for myself?!?

I think it means majority of ppl want to see more RPG in DA series.

Whereas ME series they want to see more or less action with more depth (from what I've seen in ME2 forum asking if they want to see more party members or depth, I remember most of them chose depth.)

There must be some sort of worldwide conspiracy against this game. Wait to see what happens when the game is released in Europe tomorrow where the pc market remains strong.

I can direct you to any number of political books that have most certainly been "raided."

Did I fall asleep again? I thought there was only two world wars. But your point about judging it for yourself is a justified point. People's likes and dislikes are unique and you should ALWAYS judge something on with your own tastes.

Personally from what I read it looks like PC gamers are upset that they didn't fully cater to them.  I'm a bit of a part-time PC gamer, but mostly play on consoles.  It's easier and more importantly it's cheaper.  You don't have to worry if your graphics card is good enough for a game nor do you need to worry about if you need more memory to run it as well.  But this myth about console gamers not being on par with PC gamers is nonsense.  You'll find good and bad players on both formats and after all we're all gamers here so maybe PC Gamers should get rid of the snobbery that some have.

I have the impression that there is some kind of anti-hype surrounding DA2. Everybody wants to complain about dumbed down and consolized gameplay without even giving DA2 a chance. I'm sure DA2 is far from perfect, but I've never seen so much hate for a game.

I actually like DA2 better than DAO. I couldn't stand DAO. It's story just felt so cliche and failed to pull me in. Fortunately DA2 has me hooked (for now). Maybe its because the struggle feels more personal and all seeing how you start off fleeing with and protecting your family, where as in DAO it was more of a "hi, welcome to Dragon Age, now go save the world!" deal. I like carving a name for myself, not getting a name bestowed on me cause I drank some poisonous blood. But that is just me.

It is interesting to note that only the PC reviews are bad, the console versions both have a 4-star average. This is true for both amazon.com and amazon.de.

Looks like Bioware achieved their goal.

Actually God just posted a review of Dragon Age 2. He was pissed that the game was not exactly like He in His infinite wisdom, expected.

I really liked DAO and yet I find DA2 to be superior in *pretty much* (but not absolutely) every regard, so far. The graphics are better (character's faces and expressions, cinematics, environments -Kirkwall takes a dump on Denerim from such heights...-, armors...), the interface is better, the combat is ludicrously better (both more exciting and more challenging -on harder difficulty levels-, limited amount of trash encounters), the writing and voice-acting are still excellent, the sound effects are better and the music at least as good, the side quests are much better than DAO's tacked-on at the last minute job boards and other fetch quests without dialogue. The only thing that's maybe missing is that I don't have a clear "This is your final objective, you must kill the big bad dragon in an epic final battle", but that's also a relief in the sense that there's no clear cut villain, just shadows moving their pawns in the background while you struggle to make a better life for yourself and your family.

Yeah they do.  After the Mass Effect Sex Scandal on the news a bunch of you awesome amazing people went and gave Cooper Lawerence's book a 1 star review.

Don't act like it doesn't happen.

*sigh*  Waiting for the trolls to get bored....

EDIT:  A review from the aformentioned book:

" I can already see the MASS EFFECT this book would have on my perception of women...I would instantly see them as mere objects that serve no other purpose that to fullfill my sexual desire.

I have not read the book, but I've heard that this book contains strong sexual images of both human and alien beings as well as describing several sexual positions..."

Oh no! Amazon is another reviewer that is saying the game I'm loving is horrible! My world is in pieces, for all I've known has been nothing more than fanciful lies! I should repent now and start hating DA2!

-- turns off the sarcasm button

I don't care what any reviewer says. They're all critics, wanting their word to be taken as if God in all his infinite splendor* has deemed this game unworthy to have been made. It is only an opinion, and those who would buy into it and conform to the hateful hive mind that is the game bashing community are really nothing more than simplistic people who couldn't lead themselves out of a cave if they had a map and were 10 feet away from the exit.

The game has not been dumbed down. I'm an avid gamer (maybe one of the best but I don't really know so I won't say I am for sure) and I have had to think tactically against all the swarms of enemies. Button mashing will only get you so far here. And then you'll die. And be pissed that you have to start over from your last save because you turned off autosave due to it saving every 2 seconds.**

*Not really a firm believer in God. I don't know if he exists or doesn't exist. I've had my doubts lately.

** That was what happened to me in Origins. And with DA2 freezing a lot for me, I turned autosave back on so if it does do it no big deal.
