No doubt another  "raid" by evil secret organization that wants to badmouth this masterpiece of RPG that is Dragon Age 2 ...Is there a villainous deed these monsters will not do?

just to let people know , back when this game was first announced( about August maybe?) and there was hardly any info on it this Kordaris fellow spent a solid 24-36 hours nailed to his computer badmouthing this game . I remember thinking "doesnt he eat or use the bathroom?" .He then disappeared until launch time when someone on here mentioned he was putting bad reviews on that user review site. i am sure he is European too so how he has played the game I dont know.

...3 world wars were fought...

You know.. the great American / Canadian war with "Operation: Bring Home the Bacon" that started it all.

Just an fYI: Most wars taking place today could be considered world wars by definition in my opinion. This is because of the multinational and global nature of warfare. It really depends on whether you view the conflicts in Lybia and Egypt as extensions of the Iraq War or just regional conflicts.

I guess we will have to wait for the socially mediated revisionist history to decide :P

As for DA2 I'm not really surprised its getting panned because its obviously dubious production values, lack of narrative and awkward gameplay are kind of a big deal to most people.

3 world wars eh?

Well, I wasn't alive for the first two but if we are in the third one then I can tell you it isn't about free speech or anything like that. It's about oil and profit.

Anyway, people are not so arrogant as you want us to be. It is our nature to seek out the opinions of others and most of us don't really believe that our opinion is the only valid one.

There is nothing wrong with looking at the opinions of others in the form of reviews.

i am sure he is European too so how he has played the game I dont know.

You might be interested that there was a demo of the game. Plus I have seen enough of the awful art, changing qunari into horned demons and petty excuses for dumbing down the game to attract "Call of Duty Crowd" to give it a proper score-0(although on Metacritic not on Amazon).

and there was hardly any info on it this Kordaris fellow spent a solid 24-36 hours nailed to his computer badmouthing this game

There was enough for people with some intelligence to know where this is going to(demon qunari, no customization of main character and so on)-I am happy to see that my predictions were correct.

I'll only say I'm about to call it "Dragon Gaiden 2"....

Last time I'll ever preorder a Bioware game, apart from ME3 (and because I strongly believe they simply CAN'T screw it up...).

Why are people fixating on reviews ?

Judge for yourself,
3 world wars were fought and people died so your generation can have a mind of its own and make decisions for yourselves.

I dont really know about other countrys but in the UK if a game box says 1 thing and the contents are another you can return it for a refund.
Remember, reviews are not written by God or some other diety, they are usually written by people who just want to jump up and down shouting "see me,hear me,i exist, look at me,look at me"

Just FYI, many retailers are quite difficult about returning video games/ software here in the US because of the whole Piracy thing (involving CD Keys, won't elaborate)...My little brother had a game that made him have a ceasure and we couldn't return it....Thus the reason why reviews are so important.  Who wants to throw $60+ dollars at something far below par....

BTW, America has only fought in 2 world wars....didn't even know there was a third.

"BioWare missed the RPG audience. DA 2 is a average console hack and slay."
That's what the demo felt like.

That threw me too, but then I remembered that the American war of independence is considered by some to be the first world war.

I read the reviews and noticed that most of them were posted on March 8th & 9th. So how do these people know anything about the game within 24 hours of release? Do they possess a time machine? Personally, I think they are just spamming the Amazon site.

Ooooh....what a waste of potential and of a good lore...I just hope that at least the story is GOOD. I'm still optimistic, and I think that they can't screw THAT up (especially with Anders/Justice-turned-into-Revenge, a great char feature if used right...I HOPE THEY HAVE USED IT RIGHT).

Although after seeing that archetypical "funny dwarf" and the "kickass *cop* with no sense of humor at all" intro (as if that cliché hasn't been used to death already...)...I admit I still have fear :P

my point is mr Kordaris , whats your motivation? You hated the game in August so why bother with it? Why play the demo? it was never going to change your mind after all . I can understand people looking forward to the game, buying it ,then being disappointed and venting their spleen on here but you knew all along this wasnt the game for you. So why maintain an interest in it? , I assume you wont be buying the game after all so why not just let it go and do something else?

My sadness at ruining RPG market, and destroying a good franchise started in Dragon Age Origins-which was quite a good game for me(well except the idiotic romances part).

I actually like DA2 better than DAO. I couldn't stand DAO.

Snippety

See, THIS is the problem - DA2 seems designed on purpose to only cater to those who disliked DA:O, which is quite possibly one of the weirdest moves I've seen from a professional developer ever. If Origins hadn't sold well, this would have been understandable, but from what I've seen and heard, it sold way better than Bioware's own expectations.

The "nerd rage" and "hate" you're seeing and complaining about is simply disappointment from fans of the original game, people who've been active members of these forums for years. Bioware seems to have deliberately set out to alienate us, and lo, they have succeeded.

What really astounds me, though, is the commonly repeated notion that we shouldn't have expected Dragon Age 2 to play anytyhing like Dragon Age: Origins, "because it isn't DA:O 2". Neither was "The Dark Knight" called "Batman Begins 2", but can you imagine the reviews if they'd changed all the actors, had Shia Lebeuf play Batman ("since he's popular with the younger crowd"), set the whole movie in a brightly lit Miami, and added nipples and "awesomeness" to the bat suit?

This is what Bioware has done.

Amazon reviewers are notorious for deliberate 1 star ratings without justification or thought.
