I actually like DA2 better than DAO. I couldn't stand DAO.
Snippety
See, THIS is the problem - DA2 seems designed on purpose to only cater to those who disliked DA:O, which is quite possibly one of the weirdest moves I've seen from a professional developer ever. If Origins hadn't sold well, this would have been understandable, but from what I've seen and heard, it sold way better than Bioware's own expectations.
The "nerd rage" and "hate" you're seeing and complaining about is simply disappointment from fans of the original game, people who've been active members of these forums for years. Bioware seems to have deliberately set out to alienate us, and lo, they have succeeded.
What
really astounds me, though, is the commonly repeated notion that we shouldn't have expected Dragon Age 2 to play anytyhing like Dragon Age: Origins, "because it isn't DA:O 2". Neither was "The Dark Knight" called "Batman Begins 2", but can you imagine the reviews if they'd changed all the actors, had Shia Lebeuf play Batman ("since he's popular with the younger crowd"), set the whole movie in a brightly lit Miami, and added nipples and "awesomeness" to the bat suit?
This is what Bioware has done.
