Got my signature edition today, and rolled a mage. What can i say, i still love Dragon Age. The art style is cool, the dialogue is still well written, the combat still manages to be tactical and compelling(or maybe it's because i started on Hard LOL), but there are two things bugging me. Is just me or does this sequel looks like more of a sidestory of the first? Maybe it's just me and the story will pick it up.. Those of you that played it further than me think so? Also something weird happened after i've imported my warden(spoilers for Origins). So my Cousland is prince consort, Loghain is dead, killed by Alistair, but he led the final assault on Denerim and the epilogue mentioned that he is alive. Also he was hardened. Has it happened to anyone of you?

DA2 has a very loose main-plot. It is different from DAO where you are a grey warden destine to save the world. It is fun in it own way - although I find DA2 very refreshing; Finally, I can go about my own business without worrying about saving the world.

The imports are a hit and miss... For some people it works perfectly, for others it's messed up hardcore.
Not sure what you mean a sidestory of the first? It happens during and after the events of Origins, and cameos do exist.

I think that maybe is my save file that's a bit messed, but you know what, maybe this is the best possible outcome, Alistair alive (i hope so,he was my favourite character) , Loghain dead, me King, hail to the king, baby. Also the sidestory thing, let me explain it seems the game is saying: "Boy, that Blight sure was nasty am i right? The world is changing but let's see what these guys are doing". But like i said, so far i'm liking it very much. Varric is made of win.
