With as little spoilers as possible..

Where can I go to craft poisons?? My home only has alchemy/runes and I dont see poison on either.

How can I browse a complete list of all my recipes? I bought a recipe from a shady dealer at the docks and want to make sure i'm not buying a duplicate from the emporium. (Think it was Deadly Crows Venom or similar)

There is a NPC in Darktown that will give you the poison craft options, same principle as how you got the potions and runes things in your home.

As for browsing recipes, I don't think you can when you're out of your home, but I bet that there are no duplicate recipes for sale. Might be wrong though. Anyways, they're not expensive to get, so just buy it when you see one for sale.

My worry of duplicates stemmed from the whole 'having to raise 50g' quest and worrying that if buy too many things I could end up not being able to complete that quest. (unless they have measures to prevent that)

Yes, there's a "bailout" quest that I received towards the end of my time in Act 1.
