Changing Companion Armor/clothing

Is it me, or is it better the way Dragon age origins let you set up your companion armor/clothing sets. I liked being able to change my peoples looks. So far in my journey all I have been able to do is add to them.Is there a way to do this? HELP!!!!!!

They took that away because every party member now has their own model and they would have to make a set of armor for each character and each different looking armor you come across in the game. They did the same think for Mass Effect 2. With DA:O everyone was pretty much a on of the 6 types of cookie cutter models.
But they do change there clothing at least i got some of them to change by doing certain quest. though I have no control over what they wear.
