I dont see why everyone dislikes her so much, i perosnally found everything she said adorable. And even though i had talented her pretty badly she was a permanant member of my group. She reminded me of Wall-E all confused in a completely new enviroment.



On a side note  i found Fenris to be a complete ***hole

I wasn't very impressed with her when she was revealed, but in-game, she is by far my favorite female companion. Her banters are hilarious.

I like the above poster didn't think I would care for her much. However I am finding as I play the game more and more I want my Hawke to have a romance with her above anyone else.

Well, considering the alternative is Isabela, who is probably the most annoying character I met in an rpg so far. Merrill's background story is so much better too.

I get the feeling that this goes under the same category of "Why do people not like this game?"
Most people that like the game or like Merrill (I love both) are too busy playing the game to rate it on Metacritic or to offer alternate opinions on the companions. And yes, Isabella sucks. I will never forgive her for what she did to the Qunari.

I would have to agree with you, she ceratinly does remind me of Tali in some ways and due to that and how cute she is, I couldn't help but romance her.

Merrill really reminds me of ME1 Tali as well, she's so adorably awkward in almost every situation. Having her and Isabela together in the party, they have some incredibly funny banter.

Well, everyone has their opinions I guess. I personally never got the rave for Anders (and disliked him even more in DA2) but everyone's got the right to their view.

As for Merrill, I do agree though. She is the cutest thing ever, I love her voice and ditziness. She's the kind of person that if she were real you just can't treat her bad, even if you're usually a mean or snarky person. I like her. : )

I think the problem people have with her is that she is just so adorable. She's a talking puppy in elf form. That can come off as a bit contrived, but I'm too busy being hypnotized by the cuteness to care.

There are so many elements of Merrill that evokes Tali. Though one thing Tali has over Merrill is her Quarian Pounce... which the Dalish do not possess =(

Yes, but Merrill AND Fenris is bloody hilarious!! Her total innocence and the fact that you can't tell whether she's joking or not is the win.

She's my favorite companion. I love how she's oblivious to so many things. I don't like her second costume, though.

Really fail to see how she is like Tali. She seems more like Liara as she does seem awkward with dealing with other people. Not to mention, very focused or even obsessive on her field of studies, who spend decades studying ruins or -cough- elven story

 Does Merrill ever fully move in? I completed all her quests but by the time the game ended all I got was still just the "This is the only thing Merrill's moved in." line with the flowers.

Merrill is very reminiscent of Tali and I have no problem with that. I'm a big fan of both characters. I don't romance either one though, since both seem more "little sister" than "love interest".

And yes, the Merrill/Izzy interplay is priceless.

Which is a bad thing, hated Tali and I hate the whole "Oh look at me, I'm innocent!" stick. I like her banter, though.
