I am noticing (especially with healers) that the tactic list order is completely ignored. I manually will switch to my healer and start up the healing aura and spells, then switch back. I can have characters near death and my healers are still shooting fireballs. Anyone else having these issues?

Yeah, I've noticed this, too. Anders never casts haste, for example, even though it's right there, waiting to be cast! And he also casts Winter Blast when I have Panacea up- I can't manually make him do it, but he will on his own. Kind of a useful glitch, but I don't really use him that often so it doesn't matter.

I am early in the game, and I use him as my healer. Is there a better option?

Not for healing, unless your Hawke is a mage. But depending on how you play and what difficulty level you're at, his healing might not be necessary.

I've noticed a big delay before companions will start using their tatics and that's really annoying most of the time with the time sensitive crap like when I've made something brittle and Fenris is all "D'uh what do I do?" and won't Scythe it to shatter them.
