Mages CAN get out of control, get posessed, get into blood magic, etc. so I DO think they need some sort of BENEVOLENT guardians. Not some psycho templar witch. So clearly there needs to be another solution that the templars. I'm VERY mage friendly, but I realize there must be some way to watch over them. Even the Dalish (whatever you call her) mentions that they "deal" with abominations in their on way.

When the players end as mage sided, many mages go the blood magic route and go out of control (which just proves the templar side)

On the flip side, you can't oppress the mages and treat them like slaves or indentured servants. That leads to cruelty, tyrany, exploitation, etc (which proves the mage agruments they should be free)

The game doesn't seem to resolve this issue in a proper fashion. I just HOPE you people at BW make DLC that DOES resolve it in a more amicably happier ending that the players will enjoy. As it stands the game ends will no reall happy ending or proper resolution. So again, I GUESSING you all have DLC planned to fix that :)

Otherwise I give the game ending a 2 out of 5.

Well as it comes off to me this is just build up for DA3 where the decision on changing the landscape of Thedas will take place in making a FINAL decision on Mages/Templars takes place this is just the build up to why everything is in ruins for 3...just my opinion

I think DA3 is too far away IMO. For an ending this... dark and abysmal, I think they will need DLC to resolve it.

I really hope DA3 moves back to where you could move across the lands move vs being stuck in one city like in DA2

The end scene with Leliana pretty much set up DA3 as a Hawke/Warden companion game. Which, is...intriguing.
