I'm already past act one and I feel I have a good harmony with my team consisting of.... Rogue Lady Hawke, Varric, Anders and Aveline.

The thing is from the way I role play my Rogue Hawke, I feel the best person she can romance with is Isabella. The problem is Issabela's class conflicts with my team's make up. Which means I have less oppurtunities to increase her friend meter since I won't use her at all. Just wondering has anyone been able to romance her without having her in your team.

Note: Please no spoilers. A yes or a no will suffice. I asked for help once and one of the forum users told me the fate of one of my team mates before it happend; which made me unhappy.

According to the guidebook, you must be on the friendship path to complete the romance.  You can still have sex with her either way.

Good to know I can still have sex with her, but my goal with her is to romance her. Sigh... I guess that means I have to rework my team to include her.

Oh. I have her in my team, but most the points I got for her friendship were measley +5 from side bits. It might take a little bit longer due to the limited availability of the companion quests, but her personal quests seem to allow for increasing her Rivalty/Friendship quite a bit and should be enough without having her in your party.

Also, something else you can do is do all the fighting without her and some quests allow you to change your party before you actually get to finish them without battles in the way for the finale, the conclusion dialog of these quests is where most her Rivalry/Friendship points for me came from.

So you suggest I use the party I have now for battles, but switch to a different team for the sake of what I want as far as role play is concern? That sounds flexible.

You should be able to romance her without having her in the party all the time, if you're careful to pick the right choices during her companion quests and conversations.  My Hawke was a DW rogue, so I didn't bring her along too often and I was still able to max out friendship.

What does DW mean?

Good to know.

Another question, though I believe my Rogue Hawke's personality fits with Issabella's... I'm playing her as a Lawful with a bit of Neutral when the situation calls for it. Will that decrease/increase my chances on the friendship meter?

If anything, it might not affect her meter either way. Although there are some reasponses where if you answer bottom right her rivalry goes up, for the most part she agrees with Hawke's grittier choices whereas Aveline tends to disagree.

So, if you have Aveline in your party, if her friendship goes up, it's more than likely Isabella's Rivalry will go up; whereas if Isabela's Friendship goes up then more than likely, Aveline will consider Hawke a Rival.

Aveline and Isabella are almost exact opposites.

I see. Well so far my friendship with Isabella has been pretty high, same goes for Aveline; though it does go down a bit from time to time.

Thanks all.
