Hmmm, I took it to mean Anders was being referred to as the warden - he was a warden after all. :P

It doesn't make sense otherwise, the save I chose for my first play through of DA2 had my Warden as Queen with Alistair.

Bah!

Listen to the conversation between Cassandra and Leliana at the ending of the game (at least mine).. not only has the Champion up and disappeared but so has the Warden (if they were still alive)...

Arguably 2 of the greatest heroes of their age despite whatever choices they made.. and they both disappear.. I can't wait to see an expansion or Dragon Age 3 explain this..

Also while i'm discussing the ending.. I loved Anders in Awakening but couldn't they have just made a new mage character instead of turning Anders into a mass-murdering templar hating psychopath who just so happens to be possessed by a spirit?

I know - and I know something more is going to happen since things ended so epically.

And I wish they preserved Anders :( I could have never imagined him going down this path from Awakening..

I doubt that's who they meant. I don't think they want Anders if he blew up the Chantry - plus his notoriety isn't exactly due to the best of events.

And on that note, if you complete Awakening doesn't your gal disappear?

From dragonagewikia: The Warden might simply just vanish for reasons unknown and there too they will say that "neither does anyone think his/her tale is complete..."

I know it's not the default ending for everyone, but it makes the most sense to apply it to this - yet then again, Alistair said his queen wife was waiting at home. Blah!

Yeah, after reading everywhere else, it seems they do mean the Warden from Origins.  Oh well.

As far as what the end of Awakening says, i don't remember, it's been so long.  I think she went back to Denerim, Alistair mentioned her during his meeting with Hawke, so she hadn't disappeared at that point.

Can't wait to see how this all pans out though.

I hope it's war, and I hope they bring it. I feel the need to bring some holy smackdown on people.

I think it will partially be a war between the haves and have nots, and different factions. Thus far (at least in my playthrough), we have a city demolished by yours truly and her sweet 'n' psychotic bf, a country recovering from the Blight with a King who is pro-mage freedom apparently, Orlais and the Chantry with a ruler getting older, the Crows in chaos (that letter in the journal was ~*interesting*~), and generally a lot of anarchy with a good topping of holy 5%*^ on top. Mages vs. Chantry vs. Wardens, etc.

Bring the war.

I am long awaiting this. It's refreshing to think that all of the time and options you've made in the past will culminate in an epic wrap up.

Me too.

I have to say, something I really liked about DA2 over DA1 was that the factions weren't all either this or that. Templars sympathised and actively tried to help mages- I enjoyed this because there was always this part of my mind that wondered about people like Alistair, who had basically been shunted into the Chantry but where never really brainwashed the way they would like. The viscount? I know a lot of people hated him, but I actually felt for the man, stuck between a rock and a hard place, wanting to do the right thing, but hindered by his duty- he had to maintain equilibrium between people who would never want to see the other side. I was legit angry when the arishok tossed his head onto the ground. I missed the Gray Wardens in this playthrough, but ever since Awakenings they've left a bad taste in my mouth and I'm curious to see where this leads. Who would side with who? Both the Champion and the Hero have strong enemies- but extremely powerful allies as well.

Curious since NONE of my games did Leliana perish, anyone know who takes Leliana's place in the story if Leliana died in your import?

Sir-Pounce-A-Lot is possessed by a Pride demon and grows as large as New York and takes the two biggest heroes as a evil protagonist in the next Dragon Age game.

Interesting - and even more interesting to consider how big of a role Leliana has, by default, in the game.

Damn it, I wanted to see Flemeth one more time. I basically carried her across the sea. There had to be a reason. And we get none. Fair enough. Flemeth cannot be explained so soon. Just seeing her in dragon form was epic.

My Hawke is somewhere with Fenris. My Warden is somewhere with Alistair. My ladies are just chilling with their men. One is accompanied by a wise cracking templar. The other is lovingly followed by an ex elven slave who hates mages to death. Great double dating awaits them.

I wish they had preserved Anders, too. I really felt like I got jipped. I avoided spoilers, saw Anders, said YAY, and then he was... not at all happy, rarely funny (at least in my game, I see others had lots of witty banter from him), and he betrayed my Hawke (his girl!)

It was explained why you did that favor for her.  Flemeth knew the warden was coming to kill her so she placed part of her in whatever you were to carry for her so she could be resurrected by the elfs.

I failed to put two and two together. So, basically, I just screwed over my past self.

I don't think it is that simple. That's just bad writing if that's the case, that she just rescued you and took you to Kirkwall for the sole purpose of being reborn. That would mean that the entire kick-start of the game is invalid. While I would have liked more Flemeth in DA2, we're obviously going to get more of her story down the line. Possibly in DA3.

Did anyone notice the default storyline of what happened in DA1, if you didn't import your character from the first game? I don't recall reading that he died. So...I assume that's BioWare's default storyline. Just a thought.

How my DA1 game ended seemed to fit perfectly into DA2. All of the big results and actions of my Warden were referenced which made me happy. However, Anders turning into a killing lunatic doesn't jive with the ending of Awakening. If Anders survived Awakening, his ending story card said he disappeared briefly from the wardens, but then returned a few years later to live out his life with them. I killed Anders at the end of DA2, which invalidates the ending of Awakening.

There's three different options to pick from if not porting a save from Origins. Which one would you consider "default" ?

I was pleasantly surprised to see things in the world of Thedas shaken up. Morrigan talked about "change" coming to the world but sometimes people need change to set them free...
She wasn't kidding.
I'm eagerly awaiting more of the story.

This was the 'leaping' that Flemeth foreshadowed.

I was a bit surprised Flemeth didn't make an appearance in the later part of the game, or least she didn't in mine. I figured there would have been some words fo sarcasm from here after she was released(?) from her amulet

I don't know how that all plays out I just recall what Flemeth says.  There are other ways she could have died maybe she didn't run from the blight.  Could be Flemeth knew what was coming in Kirkwall and wanted an easy and safe way to travel to that land.

There has to be some serious plotting going on. I had to use the defaults as all my old saves were gone (and I never got around to getting awakening, but college can do that).

But, it seems like something is going to happen between the warden and the champion, since they made it a point to mention that they both dissappeared. I'd almost have to think Flemeth was involved somehow, as she seems to be tricky like that.
