Well, actually, the first 'default' choice in DA2 for histories is 'Warden killed Archdemon and survived, Alistair became king'... which means someone did take Morrigan's ritual. So, by that reasoning, godbaby is canon.

Few things I've picked up over the course of the games, and from the forums.

There *is* a "truly canon" storyline. A way that it *is*, regardless of choices you made in any of the games. This must be done in order to preserve some sort of continuity between games.

Witch Hunt is not canon. Morrigan's pregnancy being an Old God baby is not canon. Not everyone had someone sleep with Morrigan, The epilogue may mention she's pregnant, but it could have been someone else, after the events. There was no definite timeframe mentioned in any way.

To the guy a few pages back asking about "where do you see default", if you start a new game and look where you can import data or pick a predetermined ending from Origins, the first choice says "default". That's what they were referring to, and may in fact be the "official" ending.

Till BW says something... we don't know.

If it is in the game and gives me the ability to make that choice then to me it IS canon I dont care what anyone says, the OGB and Witchhunt IS canon because I made those choices in MY story and I expect there to be closure for those choices at some point. Everyone's playthroughs are "canon" as it is YOUR story to unfold.

These cliffhangers will be the death of me I swear! Who took the heroes? Will they unite? Will there be war? Are Flemeth and Morrigan going to be on opposite sides of the war with one hero each? (This is what I am really hoping for. Flemeth recruiting Hawke for her case (whatever that is) and Morrigan having the warden and the war between them shake the very foundation of Thedas) And basicly what the hell is going on?!

This series is shaping into a blockbuster. I loved the ending. BioWare are master storytellers and writers, the best in the business. The Qunari's ideals of a correct society somehow ring true in what we see at the end of DA2: World War.

Couple of thoughts on it. I sided with the mages (which kinda sucked because I REALLY wanted to be viscount and didn't pull it off). It seems like the story for da3 would be leading to Tevintor and the war with the Qunari. BUT is Orlais part of the Imperium? I never quite got that. If so, it all likes up. Badahn and Sandal have been around both the Hero of Ferelden and Hawke pretty consistently though both stories. Bodahn mentions they are planning to go to Orlais. By this logic, the next installment needs to happen in Orlais where Bodahn can be a part. IS Sandal Felmeth? Also, Leliana and Cassie are 'from' Orlais and the story ends with them chatting about what to do. If they return home, this also puts the continuing story in Orlais. Interesting note being that my Hero banged Morrigan to make the god baby and survive the Blight, but he was romantically linked to Leli and went traveling with her up until he ended up in Virgil's Keep.... so in my story, little miss Leli is busy looking for her man. lol.

Also, parties tend to consist of 4 people (that you can use at a time). Perhaps DA3 will have a new hero... as will DA4. And then DA5 would be the culmination where your primary party would be the Warden, Hawke, DA3 hero, and DA4 hero. Talk about arcing story. If they gave you options in the end of more party members instead of some fillers you could choose, DA8 could be the culmination with 7 big heros to choose from to fill your party.

If that's the case, either each cumulitive save needs to include all the info from your last game, or we need to Cloud our saves. lol. No way I'll still have my DAO saves by the time we get around to 5, much less 8.

IIRC, all the endings of Awakenings mention that eventually the Warden vanishes:

(Massive spoilers for every ending of Awakenings.)

"If the Warden is married to Alistair, she returns to life at court, resuming her duties as queen of Ferelden and receives a hero's welcome when she rode back into the capital. King Alistair awaited her at the palace gates, grinning from ear-to-ear. A few years later, the Warden vanishes. Nobody knows why, but "neither does anyone think her tale is complete...""

"If the Warden was in love with Alistair, but not married to him (even if you make him king in Origins): Some claimed she returned to Alistair, her true love, and a life far away from both Ferelden and the royal court. Some say that she served the Grey Wardens elsewhere, Alistair at her side, or that the two of them were seen often at the palace in Denerim. After a number of years, however, neither she nor Alistair were seen again. perhaps they undertook some mission on behalf of the Grey Wardens, or departed for their own adventures, or... simply disappeared. Most assume their tale is far from complete..."

"If the Warden is married to Anora he comes back to his life at the court and even Anora meets him with a smile. But some years later the Warden vanishes. Nobody knows why, but "neither does anyone think his tale is complete...""

"If the Warden had chosen to "continue to serve the crown" in Origins, he/she will return to life at court in Denerim, and rumors suggest that he/she is the true power behind the crown. But a few years later, the Warden vanishes, and nobody knows why."

"If the Warden had a romance with and chooses to follow Morrigan at the end of Origins, and none of his companions stay with him after the original epilogue, he leaves Vigil's Keep, and some claim that he chose to follow the dark-haired sorceress who fought alongside him during the Blight. Whether he found her or not, he never returns to Vigil's Keep again."

"If the Warden had a romance with Leliana, he/she can eventually step down as Warden-Commander, since the Blight is truly over, and move on. Some claim he/she reunites with her. A year after the Blight's end, the pair are spotted together in Denerim. The commander never returns to Vigil's Keep."

"If the Warden had a romance with Zevran, some claim that he/she went to Antiva chasing him. One rumor suggested the pair engaged in a terrible showdown in the Antivan capital, and others say that they took over the Crows. Perhaps they adventure together still."

"If the Warden is from Orlais, the Warden can serve as Warden Commander at Vigil's Keep for a time before finally being called by the Order to the Grey Warden headquarters at Weisshaupt. Rumor has it that there is a new Blight there. The Warden never returns to Vigil's Keep again."

"The Warden might simply just vanish for reasons unknown and there too they will say that "neither does anyone think his/her tale is complete...""

So even if he doesn't walk through the mirror in Witch Hunt the Grey Warden still vanishes eventually. (Much like, even if you kill her in Witch Hunt, Morrigan's body falls through the mirror and as anyone who reads comics knows, "if you don't see the body...")

Edited to add:  Recent interviews have said that the DA2 final save ALSO contains all of your DA:O choices.

Here's something interesting to consider...what if they made DA 3 an alternating story with Hawke/Warden working together? It'd be cool to have a level 30 Hawke and Warden in the same game. Possibly dealing with Orlais and the Tevinter Empire.

I think there is even more stuff coming up, and all of it's bad.

The GW you encounter say something is going on, and with epilogues in Awakening, there is a hint that something is happening with the Darkspawn.

The Qunari will most likely strike back at all of Thedas in my playthrough at least - since I killed the Arishok but gave them their precious tomb.

Nations were already tense with eachother. With the Circle uprisings and the Chantry falling, I could see a catastrophic conflict that will alter Thedas foreva.

Personally, I kind of hope we play as Hawke again. If not him, then maybe the God child - even though Morrigan called it a 'he'. Or even the Warden? Who knows.

They are taking the KOTOR route. They will build up 2 awesome characters (I know that Obsidian made 2) that disappear into the night.......

I hope that don't happen.  Beacuse with KOTOR they made the thrid one into a pc mmo.  I don't want that darn it.:o

Good point Bztang about people that have been oppressed. I think that the grand cleric was an enabler. She didn't do enough to stop the abuse. She should have put Meridith in her place and stopped her. The only people that were in there were the templers and the Grand Cleric.

The ending sucked major Bantha balls, I thought Bioware made this game, not Obsidian. Not to mention the game was a major let down (Not gonna give reasons, since they're OBVIOUS)
Bioware developers if you can read this, You better ****ing redeem yourself in the next installment. Now I'm gonna wait for ME3, Bye.
