Stick it in DA2 override folder
Put your textures in override, too
Modify the "tattoos" section of chargen file to include your tattoos
... and that should be it?

You guys are lucky, I am stuck here with the consoles.
Look at this way: While you are happily playing the game, some of us will be bypassing all of the fun trying to figure out silly things like, adding new tats=)
I have two tests to run...which will have to wait until I can get my kids into bed. I'll be back and update once I have had a chance to try some things.

resource name=mt_tat_h01_0t
so, would try to put your tattoo texture in the override folder and add a line to this section of chargen file for each?

No, i mean the list of tattoo textures which is part of the chargen file. Near the bottom of it. Each entry goes like:
resource name=mt_tat_h01_0t

I tried that and couldn't seem to get it to work, unless I missed something. I'll give it another shot in a bit.

Adding all of the tattoo files (other races, etc) files seems to work. Also, in this process it added the blood smear too, not sure which tattoo file has it.

As soon as I can get your link up, I'll take a look and try it out.

And, I can't get your link pulled up...it takes me to blank page that won't load:(

In DAO, it was a simple DDS file. Does that necessarily hold true here?
Ugh...this problem is above my pay grade=P

I took the chargenmorph from here: http://www.dragonage...ile.php?id=2145
And I added it to the override folder. I took the custom tat file, named it mt_tat_h03_0t and placed it in the override folder as well. Bear in mind, this is in DDS file format.
I then edited the chargen, in the tat section as follows:
<tattoos>
<resource name="art\\characters\\playercharacter\\shared\\heads\\textures\\mt_tat_h01_0t"/>
<resource name="art\\characters\\playercharacter\\shared\\heads\\textures\\mt_tat_h02_0t"/>
<resource name="mt_tat_h03_0t"/>
<resource name="art\\characters\\playercharacter\\shared\\heads\\textures\\mt_tat_pmta_0t"/>
</tattoos>
Now, in the CC, when browsing the tats, the skin darkens when coming to the custom tat choice, but no tat is there to be seen. Now, to be honest, I didn't think the chargen would work, because you can't add custom tats in DAO via the chargen either.
So, what am I missing/doing wrong here? Any thoughts?

Thankee, thankee. Now I just need to figure out how to extract stuff from the erf files.
Having the darndest time figuring out the erf programs. Bleh...all of the basic DAO stuff, I pretty much had down (heck, I wrote a few guides), I just never got into the erf stuff or the programming stuff. I am almost wondering if trying to work on this is going to be a fruitless endeavor, at least until/if we get word from the devs on just how the override folder in DA2 works, or until some helpful modder is able to figure out how it all works.
My mod-fu is very weak at best:unsure:
