Another glitch.
Use Maker sigh.
Your skills removed - you get skill points.
quiksave.
Load.
Some of your skills still here, already learned....

Maker Sigh remove Isabella (and, probably, Sebastian) "friendly" skills too (even when Isabella in active party)...

K I'm on the PC checked my most recent save, and a few others to be sure. Attack speed modifier is 31, which should be accurate given I'm using Sandals attack speed rune. I used Isabella almost exclusively from the middle of act 2, and went home a lot. No bug at all here, played a warrior if that makes any difference.

When you leave your home, do you put Isabela back in your party? Try going home with Isabela in your party and leaving without, see if you get the bug that way.

Is there even a saved game editor for the Mac version???

In theory, my save game editor will work on a mac.. You would have to install the unicode version of wxPython for OSX, then you could download the source code to pygff, extract it, and run python gff4\\daosavegame.py. I've only tested it on Python 2.6, though, and I don't know what the version preinstalled with OSX is. You can check with python --version

I'd suggest that if you have access to a PC, just download the compiled gffeditor and edit your save on a PC.

- Fixed save game issues on single core machines
- Fixed game asking for non-existent drives
- Fixed release control issues where some players were unable to unlock correctly
- Fixed a Steam-specific issue related to VO not playing after switching languages

Umm does not seem to address this particular issue. Can Bioware or someone who has installed the pack confirm this?

This is simply the beta patch fixing savegame crashes etc. The real patch 1.01 is yet to come (and hopefully fixing the tons of bugs that were found already (this here, sketchy on the details, and merrills talk about events that haven't happened yet.. There are prolly more bugs, but those are the ones I encountered)

Back to topic:

I am right now trying to clean up my Hawke. Unfortunately I was using the Armor of the Fallen set which I modified so it scales with lvl, cuz I liked its look. Thus I have been using this set all through act 2 by now. Thing is its setbonus is bugged as well (+1 Str and +20 Health). I was losing Str and Health from time to time and I even came close to Varric's.

So, I got rid of the set bonus always appearing in my abilities screen by simply exchanging the helmet and save/load the whole thing. It seems to be perma gone now. Then I added up 100 HP and about 5 strength (I had to guess how much I lost. 100 HP and thus 5 Str seemed logical) Regarding Isabela in Party or not or having her bonus (or Sebastians) I simply correct it from time to time, knowing how much Speed and Damage Resi I'd have without them (luckily you can count it up on your items and passive abilities).

What I wonder is what the line Health_Reserve_Percentage is for? It says -20 and since the latest bugs any negative number in my savegame makes me feel uncomfortable. And I also wonder, although naked, why I have a modifier of 3 for Str, of 1 for Willpower and of 2 for Cons when my Character is naked. As you might have figured out I am a warrior, in case this means something. If I cumulate the modifier with the base stat I get the number of stats I have ingame without anything equipped.

It's also not clear to me that, although I have more Willpower than Isabela, she has like 10 Stam more than me- Both chars are naked and her armor doesn't give stam either.
Is it cuz she is a rogue she simply has more stamina than a warrior or is this another bug due to whatever reason?

Thanks in advance and I wish you all happy bughunting and -fixing :)

Ps.: I came to the conclusion this modifier stuff might be the passive bonus of being a warrior. Could that hit the nail on its head?

Pps.: Could it be thath this Health_Reserve_Percentage is the value that is for losing health when injured? That's the only thing which would make sense in my opinion. I have to say, however, that when my Hawke dies (I just tested this) and comes back to life when all enemies are defeated he doesn't get injured. Why is that?

The reason you still have modifiers is because of passive abilities.

I thought I fixed the set bonus bug for me.. I don't have it shown on my abilities, I went to my estate with and without party, I went to hanged man, fenris' mansion, merrill's etc..

But sometimes, when I save load the whole thing again, I lose 20 hp and 1 strenth again.. My modifier in the editor gets from 3 to 2.. I even tried to set hp modifier from 50 to 70 and strength from 3 to 4, so that when the bug strikes, it strikes my stats to normal.. But later I lose again 1 Str and 20 HP... Although I am not using the setbonus anymore (changed the helmet and don't have it on my abilities screen).

Wtf is that? I don't get it...How do I get rid of continually losing 1 Strength and 20 Health? It's so damn annoying.

I mean.. I can live with fixing my attack speed and dmg resistance from time to time.. But this setbonus bug drives me crazy.

Edit: When I save/load naked and then equip anything (nothing from the fallen set) I lose the setbonus again.. My Str modifier went from 3 to 2 to 1 etc.. When I save/load equipped and unequip it somewhat happens, too..  All the time while saving and loading I don't have the setbonus active.. All the time not. Yet I lose the setbonus from my modifiers.. Over and over again. What is this?...

Thank god for this fix! While I hate having to fix it, it only takes a few seconds to adjust the values every few hours, grab a drink change it to 5 and I'm good. You are a game saver Mephales!

I managed to ignore the speed debuff on my first play through, the damage increase made things interesting for ACT 3, but as a Mage this time around I can't ignore how horridly slow she was moving.

Anybody an idea regarding my problem? (see comment above)

I don't want to start over again.. Did so already (I thought I had messed something up, cuz I didn't find any quest for Senestra and couldn't really finish Sketchy on the Details) and haven't even finished my first playthrough. Cuz I don't play any further with bugs like this. It kills the fun for me.
:

It doesn't fit in here too well, but would Bethany rejoin my party in Act 3, when I left her at home and did not make her a Warden? Thus as a Circle Member?
best way for bioware to fix it would be to have sebastian and isabella give you their friendly benefits as a permenant bonus. will solve the entire headache as every other companions ability only affets them permenantly

What about the Set Bonuses? As you can read in my post and posts from others they mess up the game pretty good.

Got the bug today too. I hate to say it but some things didn't go well with Dragon Age II.

I have a new strange bug. Sometimes my attack cursor change into the default one and I have to switch from Hawke throught any companion to get my attack cursor back....

Got the Sebastian/Isabela bug today. Or I only noticed it today. And yes, I verified that it is indeed this particular bug. So, putting my game on hold until it's patched. This, the occasional slowdown/freeze in conversation and the usual Merril brokenness are the only things thus far encountered ... I don't know whether this is a good or a bad thing.

*sigh*

***dammit Bioware.

Yeeep, got this thing going too. Glad to see it's not just warriors! I was just peeved to see Fenris attacking at normal speed while I was chugging along at slower than molasses :P I had to try to spam that Haste spell magi got.

Are you guys serious? I'm by far not a a hacker. I tried one of these links for a "savegame editor" and after downloading it I tried to run it.. Well windows told me it didn't have a program to run that file so.....

Yeah I had thought an official fix would come pretty quick. I am not that into the gaming community lately, I mean for the last six years the only game I played was Everquest 2. took all my time, and I thought they were bad at handeling bugs, but I have never seen anything as slow as this in all my years of gaming as this. I guass the joke is on me. I invested 77 hours in my first playthrough of this game, and I don't want to start over again until I finish,

I remember fondly playing bioware games years ago, like baldurs gate, planescape and icewind dale. so when I piced up dragon age origins it was awesome. great story, great game.

I had no idea however how buggy this new game would be. I'm horrified. when will there be an official fix?

I was glad to be rid of SOE when I quit EQ2, but this is even worse. this has to be fixed. LAST WEEK!

If you're talking about the .7z, you need winrar or 7zip to extract it. then you can run daosavegame.exe or editor.exe.

I have simplified the steps to reproduce this bug and the resuslts are at least consistant on my PC.

1. Just save a game after getting Isabela's Thumb's Up Ability without Isabela in the party also make sure that the Ability is NOT listed in Hawke's Ability screen before you save the game.

2. Load the game that you just saved (do not need to travel). Check and confirm that even without Isabela in the party and that her Passive Ability is NOT listed prior to you saving the game - the ability now appears in Hawke's ability screen.

That's where this falls over.  This simply does NOT happen for me.

I remove her, the Passive Ability is gone.  I save then reload, the Passive Ability is still gone.  This issue just does not occur for me.  I'm stumped.

Is anyone having this problem with the rogue after you use stealth with the movement penalty? I looked in the save game editor but there is no line 42.

She has to be removed from the party without entering the character selection screen. An easy way to do that is the enter Hawke's house.

No, I've cracked it.  It started to happen to me, I caught it quickly and I think I know where it kicks in.

It's Fenris' slaver quest when he goes after Hadriana.  Once he throws his tantrum and storms off, this bug shows up.  Every save after that point has this problem.  Every save prior to this quest does not exhibit this problem - at all.

I strongly suspect that when Fenris storms off, this upsets the applecart - so to speak.  Tedious as it may be, I'll try replaying this quest without Isabella in my party and see if the bug still occurs.

Just got this problem a few hours ago.

But my movement speed is affected as well. It's like he's running through water. The attack and spell casting is also slowed down, though not as severely as that youtube video...yet.

I've also been messing with the save editor tool and it doesn't seem to help.

.....And I just loaded a save (not one I edited) from way before Isabela was even in my party and Hawk is still moving slowly.
