if bioware can't find a solution for that, could the somehow give us a patch, which gives other bonuses for their friendships, like the speed or resistance for these charakters alone?

I'm also hesitant to play the game in this state using a temporary fix, as that leaves a bad taste in my mouth. It's like supporting releasing the game in such a state - I take an inconvenient temp fix and still play their game and give them money/satisfaction.
I'm reaching the end of my rope, here. I don't want to abandon the DA franchise but I don't want to support this. :/
Edit: Just to make it clear, I want to thank Bioware for looking into this and fixing this. I appreciate everything you guys do, and you have a very thankless job. I'm mostly pointing at the tiny development window for a game that called for way more time spent on it, and how it shows, which probably isn't Bioware's fault whatsoever. I'm cool with the bug taking 2 weeks or even 6 weeks or more to fix, as long as it's fixed before the game is released, not after.
[/quote]
I agree with you, especially the bad taste modifying saved games leaves. I don't think editing a saved game is a fix either, but it will allow you to continue playing the game. Should you notice more slowdowns, you can edit yet another game. For myself, I just edited one saved game and was able to get through the rest, saving as much as I liked. Your other option is to wait on Bioware. Who knows how long it will take Bioware to come up with a permanent solution...
I have no idea how the game could be released with such a bug (was this not detected???) or that a fix is not yet available. I'm not as gracious as you when it comes to thanking Bioware -- I figure I pre-paid $60 for a game; it should not contain game-breaking bugs (or if it does, Bioware provides a fix as expeditiously as possible).
Anyway, hang in there!!!

Bioware did some pretty amazing things to make a game that excessively reuses environments work at a base level. The story shines through even if it isn't to everyone's tastes. It's still well-constructed, just smaller scale with smaller stakes, but very political and more personal.
With all of the work and thought that went into the *concepts* of this game, I simply refuse to believe Bioware had anything to do with not giving themselves enough time to properly develop the game. It plays like a game made to capitallize on a previous release on a technical level, but not a world/character/setting/concepts level. With a bit of graphics polish, unique maps and more locations to go to during main plot quests and secondary quests, this could have easily been Game of the Year.

My rogue was unplayable in the last part of Act 3, I'm just glad it happened that late. I don't want the same effect with my warrior.

I'd be very happy if this could be adressed soon. Since I don't want to wait for a patch, I'm at the moment forced to either rival Isabela (If that even works) or not recruit her and Sebastian at all. Which kinda sucks. =/

If you want an official fix for this, then you are going to have to wait for said patch. Other then that you can use the savegame editor and the mod which changes the friendship bonus.

HOW TO CORRECT ATTACK SPEED/ANIMATION SPEED ISSUE IF YOU HAVE CONTRACTED THE ISABELLA STD
(ON PC)
1. Download the gff4 editor 0.5.3.7z from here: http://social.biowar...ect/1936/#files
2. Go in game and equip an item that adds to ATTACK SPEED. <- THIS IS RECOMMENDED OR ELSE ANIMATION_SPEED_MODIFIER MAY NOT SHOW WHEN YOU GO INTO THE GFF4 EDITOR
3. Make a save of that and then a QUICKSAVE -> press F5 to make a quicksave
4. Exit the game and look for the quicksave file under your character under biowarae under documents.
5. Open the .das file within the quicksave for your character that you just made. It should be something like Username -> Documents -> Bioware -> Dragon Age 2 -> Characters -> "Your Character's Name" -> Saves -> QuickSave_1 -> then click on the .das file (there should only be one)
6. Once it is open with the gff4 editor (which will be called the Dragon Age Origins Savegame Editor, but you can still use it for Dragon age 2), look under party, then at the stats of the abbreviated name of your character
7. Look for something called Animation_Speed_Modifier
8. Change the base value to 0.0 from what should be a negative number if you have the Isabella Virus for normal attack speed - if you want the attack animation and attack speed to be faster than normal, make it a positive number of say 10.0
9. Console users, sucks to be you. PCs FTW
The part I bolded is why some people couldn't find the "Animation_Speed_Modifier." Nonetheless, the only name and number that matters is the left-most column called "Id," and under that the number "42." What the name is next to 42 is inconsequential. In the same row as the 42 is a value under the "modifier" column. It will be a negative number if you are experiencing this bug.
i downloaded the savegame editor but how do I open it? and make it DAOsavegameeditor?

And I am waiting, I just hope it won't take well... months for a patch to appear. We shouldn't have to edit save files in order to actually be able to play the game as it should be played.
My post was mostly just to show another one with the same issue, maybe that'll make Bioware put it higher up on their priority list.

solution <till Bioware comes with patch>:
Downloaded the file gff4 editor 0.5.3.7z
open the DAS file with daosavegame. (could make copy of file to another map or partition, just in case)
after the file opened click on + party
choose your character
go to Animation_Speed_Modifier
choose value in line Modifier (for example -85,0)
(in above screen => name / base / modifier / current / etc)
select value with computer mouse
delete value and make it 0,0 or 10,0 (or higher)
click file and choose save
close daosavegame editor
start game and choose last save
now character is moving with normal speed

open explorer, go to users / <username> / documents / bioware / dragon age 2 / characters / <charactername> / saves
for xp almost the same maps

This bug needs to be fixed asap. From the sound of other people's displeasure, this needs to be at the top of bioware's fix list. This is causing frustration and makes the game unplayable, a patch needs to be released as a priority.
The crap DX11 coding in this game is a much bigger priority.
If you fully friend Isabella or Sebastian and get their bonus, then simply keep them with you all the time. Problem solved.

Problem averted, not solved. Since you won't be able to save again unless they are in your party. Using a mod to change the friendship bonus is also another way to avert the effects of the glitch, but it doesn't solve it.
Gimping your playstyle or your bonus are not solutions, you payed for the game so you should be able to play the game in any way you see fit without having to worry about such a glitch happening thus forcing you to actually change your game experience.
Just because you regard another bug/glitch as being more important doesn't in any way diminish the importance of fixing this one.

No, not solved. I have her with me and I'm slower than Neo
If it hasn't happened to you, then you can't imagine how frustrating it is. I was about to complete the game, and then this...
And I can't go through the whole editor-savedgame thing, since I reload alot, in order to explore the dialogue options. If the dx11 mode is not as smooth as it should be, still you can play the game. In this case, you can't. You simply can't.

I did use some "Maker's Sigh" potions around the time it started. I've had a maxed out friend meter with both Isabela and Sebastian. Isabela's "Thumbs up" Icon appears in my talents screen whether or not she is with me... The slowdown was managable at first, but kept getting worse and worse. Please fix this soon, I can't complete the game relying entirely on my companions to fight!
Btw, Someone posted a Youtube video of a slowed down Hawke using the Fire based area spell, and it looks like Hawk is "Milking the giant cow"!
