thank you SO MUCH btcentral. the fixed worked perfectly.

i noticed two other areas in the modifier column that seemed odd (not that i would know however) is the HEALTH column which is -10 and the HEALTH RESERVE PERCENTAGE -2400.

is that normal?

No problem, honestly I am not sure - possibly if you have an active injury or your character is a blood mage?
For my completed Rogue playthrough the health modifier was positive and health reserve percentage was 0.0

Sebastian (and Damage Resistance) seems to be fixed, but Isabella's speed bug remains. it's "gentler" this time though - not cumulative. after adding and removing Isabella my speed modifier is set to -5 and becomes 0 again only with Isabella in party (-4/1 with my armor on)

Take off all your equipment. Go to a companion home not the player home and then remove all companions from your party. You should find that both Sebastian and Isabella's bonuses do not show under Hawke's abilities.

Assuming all the above is correct, save your game. Using the technique I posted above, reset both values to 0, save the file, re-apply all your equipment and enjoy.

The issue is definitely fixed, it sounds like you tried to fix it previously when the issue was actually occurring which is why you got the -5 upon removal and 0 when actively in your party.

The reason I say not to do it at the player home is because that is the one place you can go and still have the bonuses active and if you save and edit the values at that point bonuses will be active and end up being incorrect if you previously had them in the party - when you go to leave the house and the party picker fires, the bonuses are correctly removed (so if you had already reset it to 0 at that point, it would result in -5) and everything will be as it should.

Thank you very much! It finally worked:wizard:
I havn't messed with the save file before the 1.02 patch, but I've made two mistakes. First - I tried to fix the Hawke Mansion save. Second - I havn't checked for Isabella's effect to be removed, and it was actually active - I couldn't even add/remove Isabella, because she was greyed out after act 2 final events  - had to talk to her at the Hangman. After doing so I've fixed the save at the Fenris Mansion and everything went as it should.
Thanks once again!

man, now im worried i have a whole bunch of other problems. ugh. i also noticed under my abilites screen, isabella and the dog are the only ones that show up, even though all the other friendships are 'lit' up and positive, should they be showing up as well in hawkes ability screen?

I downloaded and installed the patch...

STILL BROKEN! I'll just have to start the game over again. All those hours wasted. =]

Cheers BTCentral for the easy-to-follow instructions.

While I didn't have a Damage Resistance penalty, I did have the Animation Speed penalty and a Health Reserve penalty as well.

So I have reset the modifiers to 0 and we'll see how we go.

Thanks again!

Thanks a great big bunch to everyone who provided a solution, you guys/gals rock :)

Followed the steps, found attack speed at -50 and a reserved health percentage (even though I wasn't wounded or a BM), edited out, everything looks great (at least for now).

/bow thanks again!

Playing Hawke as a Warrior. He started going into slow motion in the Justice Quest in Act 3. Slowed way down in the Mine Massacre Quest. I replayed from an earlier save, and the same thing happened. I contacted tech support. They said it was a gameplay issue, and to check the forums. Apparently they need to check the forums, as I see that there are alot of players with the same problem. I,am playing on Windows 7, 64 bit with all my drivers updated. I,am done with this game as its not worth wasting my time on anymore, and I am unable to find a solution, be it a gameplay issue or a tech issue. At least The Witcher 2 will be out soon.

I decided to use the save editor finally, and found something weird. Damage Resistance isn't even on there - ID 32 is missing. There's ID 53 that has no name that's set to -25, which is close to the -30 of my animation speed. Should I not mess with it?

Thanks *so* much for the fix BTCentral!
I went looking for a thread about this a few months ago and found nothing. I thought I was going crazy or my new prescriptions were screwing with my head.
It worked, and it was simpler than I expected! I'm a little disappointed I didn't get pharmaceutical-based superpowers, though.

Just wanted to say thanks to BTCentral for the instructions on fixing the glitch! This is my second playthrough, but my first time noticing this (I wasn't friends with Isabela on my first playthrough as a rogue, so didn't run into the issue). I just realized what everyone was talking about now that I'm playing a mage and was unimpressed that BioWare hadn't patched it yet. If it weren't for BTCentral's info, I would have left the game until a patch was done. Thanks again!

I tried testing to see if dieing and being brought back by Anders would reset whatever flag is doing this, but it actually made me even slower.

I just posted this in another topic, it should fix it for you:

Edit: Important - Always back up your save before trying this. On rare occasion some people have reported save editing corrupting their saves (generally if they tried to do so using an old version of pyGFF).

Preparing your save:

Take off all your equipment. Go to a companion home not the player home and then remove all companions from your party. You should find that both Sebastian and Isabella's bonuses do not show under Hawke's abilities.

After confirming the above, save, and then proceed to fix the save using the instructions below.

Fixing your save:

- Download pyGFF (the one that says gff4editor-versionnumber.7z) and extract using 7-zip or similar.
- Run daosavegame.exe.
- Go to the menu and click Open File.
- The save file will be in either:
C:Users[your username]DocumentsBioWareDragon Age 2Characters[character first name]Saves or
C:Documents and Settings[your username]My DocumentsBioWareDragon Age 2Characters[character first name]Saves
You'll need to find whatever slot your last save is in (the easiest way is to sort the folders by Date Modified).
- Open the save, go down to Party and click the plus sign next to it.
- Select the name of your Hawke from the list.
- There are two possible values (for the friendship bugs) to be reset Damage_Resistance (ID 32) and Animation_Speed_Modifier (ID 42).
- If those are negative, reset them to zero.
- File -> Save.
- Quit the application, fire up DA2, load save and enjoy!

Hope this helps.
