It's just annoying now that all the time I'm playing I'm on the lookout for a reduction in speed and have to keep going out of game to alter my saves, can't just enjoy a smooth day of hack n' slashery!

so this one should be added to the list
but again, this doesn't happen until later in the game. I'm not sure why though.

Isabella was never in my party from the time I loaded to when I killed him and re-saved. I have her buff if I look in attributes still. Just posting to give devs more info if they can't recreate!

Now that I think about it, where can I find this Save Editor that's been mentioned so much? I'm curious about where my animation speed is, and it seems thats the only definite way to know.

actually there is one more that seems to be wrong. at a certain point (after dying a lot I assume, since that's what I do most of the time), your remaining health (the value that determines how injured you are) gets so far into the negative that you are no longer injured at all upon death + revive (currently at -680.0 for me).
so this one should be added to the list
but again, this doesn't happen until later in the game. I'm not sure why though.
Yea I have noticed that. Wondering if I was lucky that I never get injured but got to be related.

Alright, thanks. Just tried opening it, and I see a bunch of source code. Tried to make sense on where character animation is, but couldn't Can you help make sense of the save editor and tell me where to go to find out that little piece of info?
I assume you extracted it, double-clicked on daosavegame.exe, went to File > Open File, opened your save game, expanded Party, select your Hawke, and changed your negative Animation-whatever (id 42) to the correct value (0, 5, something).

Actually no. I opened "editor" earlier, but I see it now. And damn, I knew something was up. My "Animation_Speed_Modifier" was at -56.0. Ouch.
Anyway, I set the value back to 0.5, and did a quest on my Warrior playthrough from the Quicksave that I fixed. After I did a part of the "Justice" Quest, I saved and Alt-F4'ed out. Something was bothering me, and I checked the speed again. Apparently, the speed went from 0.5 to -4.5.
I don't know what happened precisely, but I didn't have the "problem" members in my party(Sebastian & Isabela). My party for the one part of the quest in Darktown was myself, Aveline, Merill & Anders.

Did you happen to die during the justice quest? Also, although Isabella wasn't in your party, did you have her buff still active (which seems to be a common glitch)?
As a side note, I've been having the same issues. I have Isabella and Sebastian as friends and my damage resistance went to -15% and, from looking at the editor, my attack speed was at -45%. Additionally, I don't suffer injuries when dying. I have a feeling these are related. This was on my mage.
On my rogue, I had befriended Isabella and had her in my party/removed her quite often, but my attack speed modifier was only at -11%. The only differences I can think of between my mage and rogue is that I died a lot less on my rogue, and I did suffer injuries when dying.

There was one or two times I noticed the two buffs from Sebastian & Isabela, even when they weren't in the party, or when I had Sebastian and not Isabela and vice versa. ::Sigh:: Ultimately, this is something the developers have to fix. I wish I knew where precisely this problem, but i'm not about to corrupt my game files acting on instinct. <_<
Oh, and I didn't die during the Justice quest.

Not exactly sure what it does. But it does seem to have class specific function. For isntance. Rogues have -25, Mages have -50 and warriors have 0. Not exactly sure what stat it modifies. But in any case it should be at those values i stated for that specific class.

This is kinda gamebreaking glitch, I'm trying to figure out how did it pass the testing phases before release? Aren't there any testers who are supposed to play the game in every possible way etc to check it?
And isabella, sebastian buff from friendship happens to all so yea
Its quite hard to properly bug test a game. Especially when it takes around 30-60 hours to play thru it all. And when devs add new stuff and fix bugs they can unintentionally introduce new bugs that slip past final testing. It's possible the bug wasnt present during testing, and something a dev did just before final wrap up messed that up a bit.
It happens, especially on a game of this scale.

ID 53 is Threat_Modifier. In this case, negative is good. It means that enemies are less likely to target the specified class.
Also, I believe, but don't quote me as I may be wrong, that the two unknowns are Bethany and Carver, in that order. I suspect this because they are the only two members that can also be in your party, and their friendliness/rivalry are equal to the scores of those characters for my game.

There is no need to defend a developer of a caliber that bioware is. I am sure there are plenty of testers and plenty of time to test it all - that's part of the process of creating and releasing a game.
This is no minor studio that can have these - it's a gamebreaking glitch and at the moment I can't continue my playthrough.
I know those things might happen from time to time but should be fixed immediately. It's not a open beta but a final product already released.

I was going to do Isabela's act 3 quest.
Party: Me (2H warrior), Anders(friend), Fenris(neutral), Isabela(friend, w/ bonus)
I looked at my stats when I started: I had 0% damage resistance
I had previously been using Sebastian in the group but switched him out for Isabela for this quest. The DR seemed to drop to 0% properly as expected.
*spoilers*
I entered the brothel and had the conversation. Isabela gets dragged off.
Now I'm following her trail, and I check my DR again, still at 0%. I checked my attack speed using the editor as well. Her 5% bonus was still there as though she were still in my party...weird but ok.
I get to the warehouse and do the fight, then talk to her and the game forces me to have her in the party. So I make a new party the same as listed above. Me, Anders, Fenris, Isabela(locked). Immediately after I check my DR. It is now -5%. I checked my attack speed as well in the save file, it's the same as before (bonus still being applied correctly).
*end spoilers*

I know that patch 1.01 is currently in the works and it will (hopefully) deal with slow Hawke glitch, but as of now it's one of most severe and gamebreaking bugs reported. So maybe it would be possible to do a hotfix or updated beta for the patch?
Cause other issues are somewhat secondary compared to this...
