If they stay with you throughout the game, do they stay with you in the end too?

Varric said that circumstances forced the companions to break away from Hawke, except for Merril who stayed with me(who I romanced.)

Is it the same for everyone else?

I romanced Sebastian and I just know Varric said the companions were forced apart. Probably an oversight since he was a DLC and not a regular part of the story. I wouldn't hold out much hope of a 'forever after' with Bioware considering the Love Interests were not even mentioned except in an epilogue slide in Awakenings. Maybe future installments will have LI's but I doubt it. Like with Origins, too much to take into account to do a full on DLC.
Wish they would release a toolset. Modders have done some wonderful things with Origins' toolset filling in the gaps Bioware for lack of time or funding, couldn't do.
I just take what I can get. This was mostly a non romance playthrough anyway since like an idiot I missed getting Fenris when I had the opportunity and it was him I was going to romance for my first game.

I romanced Isabella, and according to the epilogue, I went off with her. I guess we can confirm that your choice in partner is the same person you go off with.

Isabela and Hawke are sailing happily on their ship. Only happy thing on my playthrough.

In mine, I romanced Merril and it said I went off with Isabela? I assume that's a bug of some sort, and it was supposed to be Merril.

My Hawke and Anders ran away together to go have radical revolutionary mage babies. Well, not quite; Varric just said that Anders stayed with Hawke.

I like to imagine that they went with Isabela.  She did offer Hawke a place on her ship, and then said Anders could come too.

Huh. Yeah, Isabella ditched me on mine. I swore I'd punish her if I ever saw her again.

happened to me as well. i had a fling with her early on in the game and then go with merril. isabella even seemed supportive of the relationship.

even had a touching "i love you" moment at the end of the game with merril but i run off with the **** instead lol

in mine it said i was begged to rule kirkwall then i just up and dissapeared after a while

funny thing was i played a mage at the time
