this will be my first ( and as far as i can predict, the last) message i post in this forum.
i own DA:O collectors edition, purchased all dlc, unlocked avery achivement, completed the game with every origin, with both male and female, multiple times, loved that game very, VERY, mutch.
i own the signature edition of DA 2, and that is what i have to say about this game:
it is a COMPLETE FAIL in every sense of the word.
I as a RPG fan, but mostly as a DA series an most of all BIOWERE fan, feel betrayed.
let me tell you that today you lost not only a fan but a custumer also.
this is the last biowere game i get ( and i'm not the only one who thinks this way about you're latest work i'm afraid) if i ( if we, to be really honest) do not see a COMPLETE revision on the steps and managment that led to this shame of a game, in the future.
and THAT is a period.

I want deep interactions between companions and a story that strikes you emotionally. I can’t believe the devs have taken away so bluntly THE most important aspect of the original.

So in conclusion if you had just given us the same gameplay of Dragon Age Origins, and updated graphics most of your fans would have been happy.

have 2 agreed with the nay sayers. The story is ok and the combat looks great but very boring in the long run

Its EA's speciality to make half assed, crappy games that are buggy, glitched and subpar to their predecessors. I can honestly say I hate EA as a company, yet I buy their games as no other company makes them or does a worse job(FIFA vs Pro Evo for example). Whatever EA touches turns to ****. Origins 2 (DA3) should be similar to DA:O. I can't actually believe BioWare released this garbage.

My advice,

Spend 5 years developing Dragon Age 3 :) That would work like a charm.

What? I don't even... If you don't like DA 2 then it's most likely you haven't even tried. Ofcourse there is a chance of your personal opinion variyng from mine, but naaaah. I find it spectacular and my bioware love started with kotor and DA is among my favorite games ever. The only things i've found wrong with DA 2 so far is: The UI seems aliiiiittle bit rushed and a couple.. a few.. several glitches, but those will get ironed out eventualy. Anyways.. If you just really give it A shot im sure you will love it. If not.. Then stop complaining and go play something else.. What is with you people and being ungreatfull sods.

PS. I'm not sure you know alot about story telling but it's not always completly focused around one character or even linear..

I'm with you man.  Dragon age was great. The first run though took 60 hrs. It had a great story and the endings you could get were really cool and it felt like you were reading about a far away land. $30 bucks well spent on the first game. However I just got done with the first run though of DA2...........WHAT THE CRAP........it only took about 35hrs and it costs $60 bucks.......and there was jack end story, Flemeth was only there like twice.......AND WHERE THE HECK WAS MORGAN????   Epic FAIL EA. I will not be buying anymore games from you when they first come out. Going to wait for them to go down to $30 maybe $20 before I get them if I do get anymore ay all.

i find this thread so fun, people say the thread is a complete fail yet they have to give their opinion in why Dragon Age 2 is soooo great and didnt fail.

Just admit it, the game is much worse than origins, combat is so simple that nearly you can beat the game pressing just one button. Dialogue is more simple too, and that IS BAD, we are talking about a rpg, dialogue and story is the core of the game.

Authentic metacritic user scores (not bribed magazine scores) review Dragon age 2 as a 4.0 out of 10. Whereas Dragon age Origins scored an 8.4 metacritic user score.

I'm enjoying DA2, and I like the storyline. I found the political intrigue to be an interesting change of pace. It's been fun overall, but I could have done with fewer FedEx quests and more interesting sidequests.

I'm just gonna say i'm dissapointed with DA2. Not going to get into my specifics because people just love to jump all over others on here for thier reasons.  But i'm glad i rented it from gamefly and didn't spend my hard earned money on this game.  Hopefully DA3 will be a little better and i'll be able to click the keep it button on gamefly.

To everyone saying to crank up the difficulty, game is ****** easy till Hard, and Nightmare forces you to not to use a 2h warrior. If you wanna play that role, then you are ****ed, cause nothing can be tanked that way and using a tank will get the tank killed by your mad swinging and jumping and... well, cause you are high on acid it seems.

I don't know. I usually won DA:O fights by just moving one character around. Not even pressing a button. That was Hard mode. In DA2 hard mode, I find myself often directing and intervening for all four characters to react to the new arrivals. So. I think combat in DA2 is a huge step up.

But sure, if you turn to Casual, I'm fairly sure you can beat DA2 with pressing just one button. (And boy, do I love the R-key for looting!)

I didn't think the dialogue was in any way more simple than DA:O.

And I'm also so very, very glad Bioware didn't just make a simple sequel with the silly warden again. Good riddance.

My biggest gripe with the game so far are the tie-ins with Origins. They feel oddly out of place, but I suppose the people who so much desire a continuation did want something like that.

I actually really like this game. Sure I have beaten it already, but I plan atleast two more playthroughs. I only found the lapses in time to be a let down. I would have loved to play that year you worked for the smugglers or mercs.

I don't consider it the same level as Origins, but it is still a far superior RPG than what is out on the market.

The truth:

Command And Conquer Tiberium Dawn, Tiberian Sun: =D

With EA hand:

Command And Conquer 4: =/

Same on Dragon Age =\\

Everything that EA puts a hand decays...

I'm so disappointed in this game, after absolutely loving DAO.
I playing the PC version and just unlocked the blood slave skill only to find out it doesn’t work. That was the last step to make me say "I spent 60 bucks on this junk".
I’m happy for those of you enjoying the game, but I feel completely let down and will not be purchasing another RPG from BioWare / EA.

I must say i was a huge fan of bio-ware since KOTOR and i would pretty much pre order any new game they had coming out. Spending 60 bucks on DA2 made me regret having that much faith in them. I have over 100 hours into DAO with many purchased DLC (including the thrown together last one) i just don't see how trying to improve on the original lead to an inferior game. Too the people that are enjoying it great but for me and some co workers i talked into pre ordering it thanks for nothing. P.S. why do i have to download a texture package after the release of the game shouldn't things like that be included upon my 60 dollar purchase.

Well,DA2 wasn't bad.  it was overall entertaining but a disapointment for people like
me who expected anoter DragonAge instead of MassEffect2  with Swords :(

Not sure if they took things into the wrong direction or if i'm just no longer the target audience.
