well so far I’m 5 hours in and I have to say my "first Impressions" are good I’m really enjoying being the Snarky/ humorous Hawke (it gives you lots of different battle cries) the fact that I don’t have to baby sit my companions even on hard makes my whole playing experience fun, so far I have finished a decent hand full of side quests (I’m trying to finished every single one) each side quest seems to have a different effect on how each of my companions see me.
For example (this is not a real side quest but similar to one I have done) I went in to a basement and there was an elf captive and I had to rescue her as the elf’s father begged me to help. In my party I had Avilene, Varric and Merrill. As we cleared out each room Avilene and Merrill began to get more in to the role that they are Avilene was getting more up in arms that the city guard hadn’t done anything about this and Merrill was more and more worried for the safety of the elf.

I love it when games like this can really get me immersed in to the story and fiction that is behind it. Dragon Age 2 moves along much faster than origins ever did and I like that. I find that the way that the game is “framed” through the eyes of Varric is why we have this “different” art style of the Darkspawn, remember not everyone sees the world the same as you do.
