Well the topic says it all i believe. I'm at act 3 and suddenly Isabela is in front of my writing desk with an quest mark over her head and when i try to talk to her i can't get into a conversation but she only drop one of those random comments.
I can't talk to her over at the Hanged man either. But over there she doesn't hava a quest mark at least.

Is it suppose to be like this? Do I have to get something special before i can talk to her or is it just a bug?

Probably a bug. In my game I think the conversation started automaticly, after I entered the estate.

typical chatter bug came across them just ended up ignoring them and moving on

I think there's two times when she is in there waiting, I am not sure one is about Castillon and one is with Aveline.

When do these happen? She hasn't come into my house but once which was when she slept with me.

I have her full friend, so just curious as to when this is triggered.

P.S. I'm on the second half of Act 2 approaching Act 3.

They both give you quests. if you do aveline before isabella, she will leave the party

I'm having this same problem. She appeared in Hawke's estate with a question mark over her head and won't talk to me or give me a quest. When I completed the game she was not fully romanced, despite the fact that I had been romancing her correctly. I'm guessing that a conversation was supposed to happen, but it's bugged and won't allow me to proceed?

I had the same thing happen to me as well, I kept trying to reload earlier saves but it kept happening. I also didn't get the completed romance at the end.

Same here, couldn't complete romance at 100% friendship, though only 1 gift.

Any solutions? Though at the end of the game it still said isabella stayed with Hawke even though I had full romanced merril since I never got to finish things with isabella due to this.

Same thing here, and that's after giving her both gifts and everything, guess it's something we did that screwed up the flags and she bugs out. Really really lame.

I started also having a problem where Hawke's normal attack. It became slow for no reason (I've been reading around and this is becoming a more common bug). I just reverted to an earlier save game. This time around I didn't sleep with Merrill (like the first time around) and I didn't do her side quest. This allowed me to do Isabella's side quest's. For some odd reason I had a ton of Bugs on Merill's Quest the first time (when It asked If I would like to leave I said no and then it transported me to the center of the Elvish town and was attacked by everyone. Afterwards, I was not able to remove Merill from my party at all). I'm hoping that it won't happen this time.

So currently I've loaded a save from the beginning of act 2 to start over the romance. When I got the bug last time I was wondering if it was because I was romancing Merrill at the same time, so this time I'm going to just try for the Isabela romance and hope for the best.

you're supposed to be able to talk to her to start a quest but same here. I'm just getting random comments...Any answer from bioware?

So once I used my save from act 2 and went on to act 3 I was able to talk to her and initiate the quest. Whether or not this is from using an act 2 save or not romancing Merrill at the same time I'm not sure.

I also have this bug.  She was standing in my house when some other quest initiated immediately when I entered, and now I cannot talk to her at all.  I have completed 100% friendship and given her both her gifts, but I cannot talk to her anymore.

edit:  was reading up, and you might have to give her both gifts and do the "on the loose" quest before she'll talk to you.  I'll post my findings when I finish "On the loose".

I had this bug as well but then, if I remember right, I clicked on my dog and then was able to talk to Isabella.

If you check on the wiki there is a work-around for this bug, using the console commands. I won't get into the work-around here as the wiki does a good job explaining it and telling you how to setup the console to use anyway.

i was able to fully romance her the time i imported my former play data of da:origins, the time i didnt i had the same problem
im not sure if this is the resolution, but i guess its worth a try
