Has anyone's DA:O import misfired on this one?

Nathaniel Howe survived in my Awakening import and yet no grey warden appeared in the Deep Roads to save Bethany from the taint. Oh well, might as well just restart with Anders on my group Posted Image

Mama warned you! I knew damn well something horrible would happen if I took her along after that scene, so I was sure to leave her at home.

But it's much better than the alternative.

Thats because you need to bring anders and your sibling to turn them into a grey warden

I was pretty upset by her dying, but it felt like the natural choice to want to bring her along... just had a feeling the whole game that Uncle Goonlen was gonna sell her out if I left her at home, so she was safer with me.

I was tempted to replay with Anders in the group, but I'm gonna go with the tragic consequence since it was the real choice I made.

i like that I brought her but I also dislike it.

On one hand, she's alive and will fight alongside me again.

On the other hand, Mother thinks of her as lost either way, and Bethany's letter seemed like she was pretty mad (i.e. "surviving.... this is what you wanted isn't it?")

IDK, if Bioware was looking for a way to anger us/make us sad, they sure picked a good target as I would say a good amount of the population of players grew rather attached to Bethany early on, either as a character or just a mage.

I was pissed when she left the group... She was HOT looking!!! Man to rob a group of a hot chick is a sin!

I seem to be doing that quite a lot in this game. I'm almost at the end now and it's been one big tragic clusterfrak.

It seems like everyone is either dead or betraying me, despite my best intentions. I actually cried the other night when something horrible happened--yet again-- to my poor character (that I won't mention b/c of spoilers). But I'm sticking with all of these choices to maintain the integrity of the story.

It's just a shame that it's all gone so wrong. Poor, poor Hawke.

So what happens exactly if she is left behind? I'm guessing the templars capture her.

@Stabbath - Hawke returns to the hovel to see the templars take Bethany away. There is a letter from her in Act II and a brief cameo. She'll reappear in Act III and can join Hawke provided that the right choices are made. (a bit abbreviated there, but that's the gist)

Well, she's only around in Act III for the final quest/battle (though there is a possibility she may appear in the Best Served Cold quest). But for me, it was pretty darn nifty keen to have the Hawke sisters united in battle - kicking templar *ss and taking names (and yes, I sided with the mages).

There's always a 2nd playthrough, you know...

Nathaniel doesn't rescue your sibling in the Deep Roads. :| You get to see him later.
