Just downloaded and used your Morrigan mod. While she looks attractive for sure, I think your softening of her chin pulls a little too far away from her portrayal in the game.

I think the concept art and how she ends up in the game conflict, which may be why. I remember in an interview that Kate Mulgrew described Morrigan as innocent. I'm not so sure that holds true to her in the game.

Perhaps you could offer a more middling option, somewhere between the concept art which portrays her as fairly innocent imo and the end result of something too cynical to be considered truly innocent. Perhaps reintroduce the sharper chin.

Well, I didn't change the chin protrusion at all, just the length of it a bit, to shorten the face in general.

I think the version 2.0a with the yellow eyed alternate givers her more of that cynical look back though.

I'm not really planning to release any more versions of her right
now, at least not until custom textures and colors can be done.

What I -may- do at some point in the future, is upload my orignal .mrh file for people to make their minor tweaks to it to suit their personal preferences.

However, what I don't want is people just making minor tweaks to it and rereleasing it as new mods or their work, cause that just irritates me for some reason.  But I'll probably get over that, as I've always allowed it in the past and have let my work be used in other people's compilations and such.

I really like your 2.0a, the yellow eyes just make such a difference. I kept the original Morrigan so far because her eyes just seem so right with her character. The 2.0 eyes just don't quite fit with the her voice for some reason.

I would be very curious to see how you'd do a leliana trailer mod B). Great work.

Hopefully, if we work at it, we can eventually get all the women in the game to look like these:

www.newyorkerstore.com/2000/New-Yorker-Cover-1092000/invt/125071

... not counting the "ugly" one, of course.

We might even be able to achieve true beauty in all its breathtaking variety:

Weretched, your single minded condescension is just too amusing, and it has to stem from somewhere.

Considering this is now the 7th most popular mod, apparently a large slice of the playerbase had serious issues with her barely human looks.

It doesn't mean people don't like variety, it just means they didn't like that one specific face. The new mod version wasn't an arbitrary ideal, but was based on the concept art for her which people preferred.

As you can see from the beginnings of the Leliana mod, I'm not just making a new face I like, or trying to give the Morrigan mod and Leliana the same exact face, as you repeatedly claim all of us seem to want. What I am trying to do is make characters that look like their art work or advertisements.

If you don't like that art work, or advertisements, don't blame me for it. I didn't create it. Many of us just prefer them better.

You're like the sort of guy who, if you put two girls in front of them, would refuse to make a choice as to which you thought was better looking, or claim that to be politically correct while secretly making one, and then spout some nonsense about how all women are equally beautiful, when no one truly believes that.

The truth is, beauty is subjective and there is no accounting for taste, so don't get upset just because people don't share -your- tastes. If people are going to play out relationships with fantasy characters or what not, what exactly is the issue with them modifying the looks to someone they actually would have a relationship with?

Should people not be allowed to only date people they are attracted? Or only people Wretched Gnu thinks are attractive since you think everyone must share your tastes? Like you're somehow going to convince people to change their tastes or not like what they like with your whining?

So the question is, why do you care what people want to make their video game characters look like?

I mean, I guess you could say we should all just behappy with the default heads for our main characters too and not modify their looks, because thats mean and its like a judgment call against people who look like that! lol.
And I'm still waiting for you to post a rant to BioWare for not allowing overweight characters, which, when you think about it, is really quite worse an arbitrary judgment call, isn't it?

So, really, just get over it, over yourself, and stop trying to enforce your tastes and standards on people for using a voluntary mod, lol.

I think that the tight cat-like slits for eyes,  along with the yellow pupils really go well with the character.

There's already a softy sweetheart in the game and one of every kind is enough.

The head you did, however, looks quite good and I would liket o know what facial slider "coordinations" you have used.

Drakonnen --  You're right.  The women in the game should  look like identical Disney princesses, because we all know that that's what beauty is, and only ugly politically-correct lesbian feminist communists pretend to believe otherwise.

Regardless if I disagree with Wretched's opinion or devouted bashing of the facial changes, making his point by a post followed with a disney screen had me laughing for good 5 mins out loud, and for that I thank him.

Anyway, about those facial "coordinates" used to make these faces...anyone able to post 'em?

Hah, I love the way you just skip what I say to make stuff up that I said.

Again, I'm not making identical characters.  I'm going off the art, which is why Leliana's face looks very different from Morrigan's.  You seemed to suggest the Sacred Ashes trailer Leliana was unique looking, and now that I make a face trying to resemble that, you claim I'm trying to make them all look idenitical and disneyfy them? Now you're just trolling, lol.

You're either oblivious or a hypocirt, like when you claimed the face lacked any characteristics, but then said it was full of innocence and vulnerability (characteristics) in the next sentence! :D

Did you, like, date or marry a girl most people consider to be ugly, but you think is unconventionally pretty or something?  Or did a conventionally pretty girl of the sort you're railing against once sporun your affections?  It would explain a lot is all I'm saying. :innocent:

Oh, and by the way, I said beauty is subjective, as in "in the eye of the beholder," subject to personal taste, not objective like you are claiming I am saying.

The only one displaying an objective consideration of beauty, Wretched, is you, but attacking and railing against other people's tastes as being somehow wrong, and yours is right.

That's what makes you little better than the adolescents you were railing against.

Just ignore Wretched already, you know he's gonna keep trolling.

By the way, those who are saying Morrigan looks cute or sweet, are you guys talking about the v2.0 or v2.0a model? Cause v2.0a is certainly nowhere near sweet or cute from my point of view.

I approve of the changes. Old Morrigan creeped me out a little.

My personal opinion is that Gnu is a hypocrite.

Again  --  whose "conventions" are you talking about, Kemosabe?  If I were spurned by a woman whose beauty conforms to the Disney "conventions" of pre-pubescent boys (and girls), then that's surely no loss to me.  The bubble-headed cheerleader that you grandly suppose to be "conventionally pretty" -- but which adult men find to be childish and even a little creepy -- is just not interesting, in the same way that Brittany Spears stops being interesting after the age of 16 or so.  I only go into this because you asked the personal question...

Drakkonen, i am anxious to see your take on Leliana, what you did with Morrigan is truly amazing, although i can undertand why some people say she looks "too sweet" for her personality, but i do agree with what you said about beautiful people doing horrible things.

You're doing a really good job there.

Now ignore those who hate too much and get back to finishing Leliana ^^ looking foward to it.

(excuse my english, i'm french )

Adult men hate cheerleaders?

Are you out of your friggin' mind?

Quick, someone tell the NFL and disband the Dallas Cowboy cheerleaders!

And, by the way, you're half way retarded for assuming "cheerleader" defines so narrow a set of looks.  Go check out any Cheerleading team roster, and you'd be surprised by the degree in variance of the faces.

However, continue making blanket statements as much as you want, because you know the funny thing that really makes me smile?

Everytime you complain or post a little rant, this topic gets bumped right back up to the top, meaning more people see it, and, like advertisement, more people start downloading that which you so hate.  Oh sweet irony! :D

I agree that it is a very nice looking face, but the one they used does seem to fit her personality more.

Good work though.

This from the dude who ignores everyone's points and makes up positions for them while also creating fake quotes from them too?

At least he was being intellectually honest.

I tend to agree with your opinion on the changes made to Morrigan with this mod, Gnu, that's why I don't download it. I don't troll threads where my presence isn't helpful or desired because that would make me an ass.

I'm liking the new Leilana, the softening suits her character nicely I think, though I can't say I care too much for the bright red lips, which don't seem to show up in the trailer, and can you get her hair to look like a more natural red? The default seems to be too far into the red and away from the copper coloration most natural redheads seem to have.

Edit: Judging from the Sacred Ashes trailer, her hair is way off, so if you're going for that, I guess you're on the right track, it just looks so unnatural.

Thanks I really like it. It will be the first mod I download. Currently trying to decide whether I like 1.0 or 2.0 better.

I thought the eyes on the original Morrigan looked a bit strange. And the face was a bit too sharp. (No offence intended towards the Bioware developers. I just always preferred the concept/poster art.)
