 Just completed my first playthrough and I was curious on some matters.

First, does Anders still go all mage-terrorist on the Chantry even if you're romancing him and whatnot? If you're at 100% friendship? I'd imagine he still does, being as how it's so necessary to the plot, but still it'd seem a bit extreme.

Does Merrill stay with you if you side with the Templars under the same conditions? Also, slightly underrated Merrill note. Is there any further step I missed in the romance? Because at the end, it still said the flowers were the only thing she moved in even after doing all her companion quests (though she did stay in the estate afterwards). I think it's bugged because I got the scene where she talks about the Keeper being dead before I even got to that companion quest, which I suspect might have bugged the whole thing out.

Isabella. Does she always run off and abandon you if you say you're going to give the relic to the Arishok? Again, even if you're romancing her or 100% friendship? Speaking of, is there any real romancing her or is it just the one night stand? And is there any way to get her back as a companion once she does run off? She still appears on my party screen, just grayed out (whereas once I booted Anders, he vanished completely).

Are rival characters more likely to turn on you in the final choice if you choose against them? Seems the obvious answer is yes, but I still managed to convince Fenris to stick with me even though he was further towards rival than friend.

From what I have read even if you give Isabella the artifact she still abandons you.

Isabella returned with the artifact before I faced the Arishok, I still had to fight him for her sake though.

Well I know for a fact there are some possible story routes where she stays. Whether it's because she comes back later or not I don't know but one of the potential endings is her being the one who sticks with the Champion.

I had to romance her along with complete all of her companion quests, but she comes back only if you're loyal / romancing her. She doesn't state why, but I assume it's out of loyalty or love.

I didn't romance her and she came back, she's a total bro.

Isabela comes back if you have high enough friendship. I think she was around 85% (from eyeballing) for me when I hit that part of the story and she came back. I still had to duel the Arishok though.

You have to achieve 50% friendship or rivalry with her and complete the questioning beliefs quest of Act 2 before you start the final mission then she stays.

I was able to keep Merrill when I sided with the Templars.

Isabela comes back if you have her above 50% friend or rival.

Anders will always do his terrorist act (I romanced him and the f'er broke my heart, I had to break up with him).

Merrill will leave you if you side with the templars and she is not 100% friend or rival.

Fenris I am confused about, I keep reading if he is not 100% friend or rival and you side with the mages he leaves you. I had him at like almost 50% rival (maybe below, maybe right at, but not above), and he left me at first, then came back when I made the comment (or something like this) "I thought you were for freedom, and hated the thought of slavery". Then he said to Meredith, "sorry human, I will not fight with you" and rejoined me. I was shocked! Happy, but shocked.
