Variety of Cursor/Selection Errors

I'm wondering if anyone else has encountered this.  Once every hour or so, usually during combat, I'll lose the ability to click on anything in the game world or basic UI.  By that, I mean I can't click to move, or target an enemy or item, or use any icons on the ability bar with the mouse.  Keyboard controls still work fine.  This applies to all characters whenever it happens.  Usually the cursor will be locked in the default brass-colored pointer, but sometimes it will lock into a dialogue bubble that will prompt a comment from a party member wherever I click on the screen.

It usually goes away after a short while, either on its own or due to some action on my part that I can't pinpoint.  Saving a reloading rarely has an effect, but restarting the game entirely always fixes it.

I encounter similar errors in the menus and dialogue screens.  A couple of times mouseover functionality has disappeared from the menus, such that I can still click on things, but scrolling over an ability icon or menu option producs no response.  Sometimes, usually after skipping dialogue with Esc, the same will happen with the dialogue wheel.

I'm not necessarily looking for a fix, since this seems like some sort of deep software issue.  I'm more curious how prevalent this problem is, as an indicator of a) whether BioWare knows about it, and B) how much time I can expect before a proper patch.

I have had this happen, during the second Ogre battle. Bethany could highlight the ogre, its name would show up, but she could not target it for attacking (no sword cursor).

For some reason the UI treated the ogre as a static, non-hostile NPC. Haven't seen it in a long while though, maybe it only happens during cinematic interrupted battles?

At first Hawke couldn't initiate attack with the mouse, then switching to Bethany, she couldn't.  After fooling with her inventory for a bit it suddenly fixed itself.  I haven't seen it since then.

I'm getting this, too. Very annoying. So far it's only happened in combat, and it then of course makes that combat very difficult as I can't order any of my characters to do anything.

I had just used Anders to cast a Cone of Cold, so I wonder if the bug might be tied to some spell selections...

I'm also getting this bug. It turns the mouse pointer into the default one for the menu's when in combat and if I survive then turns into the Talk to people pointer.

As far as I've been able to tell so far it occurs during battles often when casting spells. The only way to resolve it I've found is to close the program and load it again. Seems to happen every few hours:

System details:
Win7 64bit
i7 2.8Ghz
8GB RAM
AMD 5850 1GB

Using Direct X 11 mode with the beta AMD drivers linked to in the Direct X problems post.
I'm also using the High Definition textures back, on the Signature edition with all the current DLC installed.
