I tested this out;
Played 2 games, both loaded from a save point at the start of act II
I played both in identical fashion doing all the same quests and following the same route
*On the first run, I outfitted my group without any "Bonus Equip" enchantments, and sold everything I found.
*On the second run, I outfitted Hawke with 3 enchantments and then sold everything I picked up.
Most of the equipment was identical, but oddly enough, I made money money from the run which had no "Equipment Bonus" enchantments.
I also failed to find anything of real value.
Conclusion: The "Equipment Bonus" enchantment is, by far, one of the most useless equipment items in the game. My advice; don't waste your time like I did and pray its removed from the game st some stage.
"Enemies drop better equipment" - does it stack?

When you say you played two games, do you mean to completion, or just some point in the act (or act 3)?
Interesting results regardless. I've also wondered about the +equip enchantments. My guess is that they add to your character's level when computing drops (making a level 13 PC a level 14 PC), but without access to the loot/drop tables I don't know how to be sure one way or the other.
Regarding the amount of $$/equipment that drops- it does seem really variable even in the same area. Case in point for me was a fight involving the Monstrous Spider in the Deep Roads. One victory resulted in 4g and a silver item, but an injury. So I reloaded to try for a perfect result and did not get injured, but also got a spider kill with only 17 silver.
Hopefully once the patch is out and some bugs are sorted, we will be able to get more information on the loot and drop mechanics in the game.

Did most of act II only, spent almost a week on just those. I recorded the 1st game in detail and followed the same steps with the second game. I used the same party (so i had to skip certain quests) and always used the same gear. Started with empty inventory so I could see/sell everything I looted.
All in all, I found the enchantment for better equipment to be a waste of time as the items are still weak and there is little difference in loot prices when selling,. The enchantment for gold is much the same, while it does seem to work, the random drops for sums of gold vary an extraordinary amount. In fact they can very so much that someone can find more gold by doing a few reloads of saved game than using up a precious slot to equip an item with an enchantment.
Not crapping on peoples love for playing the odd's, just saying experience has taught me this is one lotto game where the jackpot tends to be less than the ticket price.

I know this thread is over a year old and most people hate Dragon Age II with a passion, but I think I will share my experience on this matter so any future DAII players that come across this question need not be confused any longer. I play PC version DAII with the latest patch as of 2012.10.24 (Version 1.04).
First of all both "Enemies drop better equipment" and "Enemies drop more coin" work as they are intended to.
Equipping accessories such as rings, belts, etc. that has the "Enemies drop better equipment" property WILL increase the chances of you getting better loot. But as myself and multiple other people have confirmed, the items inside Chests, Dead Corpses, Rubble, etc. are randomly determined THE FIRST TIME you enter an area. Therefore, if you want to have a higher chance of obtaining better items, ALWAYS have an accessory with the "Enemies drop better equipment" equipped the first time you go into an area. An example of a "better" item is a Staff that has "+58 mana/stamina & +5 mana/stamina regeneration rate" vs. one that only has "+58 mana/stamina".
Through various trials, I have NOT been able to observe a difference between equipping one accessory with "Enemies drop better equipment" vs. equipping various items with that property. So I believe this property, unlike "Enemies drop more coin", does not stack.
The money obtained for selling "worse" items vs. selling "better" items is not pronounced. So you will not be losing much gold by not equipping an accessory with that property, merchants in DA II do not give much for your loot anyway.
As you get towards the end of the game however (Character level 25+ onward), you will notice that even the "Unique - Purple colored" Items start becoming under-powered. Oftentimes the "Silver colored" items will actually be better. This is something to consider.
Because gold is so scarce in the game, in my opinion, "Enemies drop more coin" is an excellent property, far from useless. It also stacks, so the more you have, the more money you will have. Following the guide posted on Dragon Age Wiki, you can have around +34% in Act 1, by Act 2 you can have around +78% and by Act 3 you can have around +110%. By Act 2, Lieutenant level enemies were dropping around 40+ silver consistently and by Act 3 it was 75+ silver. This huge jump in gold drop rate is most noticeable when you pick up a lot of gold in one go.
Hope this help.
