this might not be the right place to post this because i doubt it's an actual "glitch" or whatever, but in the rogue Scoundrel ability tree, there is an ability called "Goad".. it says that it redirects all aggro in the area of the flasks target area to a "Selected" party member... when i go to cast "Goad" i get no opportunity to select which party member i want the aggro to go towards. am i reading the tooltip incorrectly and misunderstand how this is supposed to work?
abilites not working properly?

replying to my own post to hopefully get it back up to the top so maybe someone can reply and give me some insight on whether or not i misunderstand the way this ability is supposed to work? does anyone know? if Goad is supposed to do what it's tooltip implies?

Both Goad and Armistice do not work on consoles currently.

has bioware announced that this is a known issue and confirmed that it'll be patched? or does something like that just sorta go without saying.. because for me, Goad is a game maker, i dont like my mages being surrounded and if i could make all those enemies swarm Aveline instead, it'd make the game just that much more enjoyable for me :/

I've been searching and searching for the answer too. I can't find anywhere that they're saying if or when it will be fixed. I wouldn't say it's compleatly game making or breaking, but it's a very big deal. The versatility of those two talents is huge. Really determins how usefull rogue's are.

After giving us Auto Attack, I'd put this at the top of "Stuff that need fixing that angers me and detriments my joy of DA II" list. A very exclusive list.Luke Barrett wrote...

I think they're gathering info on a LOT of different bugs, hence all the stickies asking for bugs specific to various acts, and that they'll be releasing one big patch to address a lot of this stuff. I am just guessing here, but if I'm right, I'm willing to give them a little extra time. I'd rather have a patch in a month that addresses all (or at least most) of the bugs than one in a few days that addresses only one or two.

Please include the fixes for both Armistice and Goad for the very first patch. I don't mind waiting a little longer for the patch itself (though none of my other issues are gamebreaking - I can even live with the lack of auto attack) but I don't want to have to wait for a second or third patch for fixes to something that, really, there's no excuse for being broken.

What does Armistice do?

It's supposed to cause the enemies to drop aggro against their current target and attack the second person on their threat list.

So... I've seen this question popping up, but does Armistice also not work. Luke (Bioware) indicated that both abilities were broken, and I understand why Goad would be broken, as it requires two targets, but Armistice is essentially a heal spell targetting-wise. Has anyone tested this?

It seems like the aggro drops but completely resets. It's hard to say without knowing who each enemy has second on their threat list - some (though not all) of the enemies continue to attack the Armistice target regardless.
Goad is a much bigger problem, as you say. It simply doesn't work.

I'm guessing this is going to come out in an upcoming patch? Do they work at all or are just basically rot?

Does goad work if you set it up in your tactics and let the AI do it? That's what I did on conse and the aggro seems to get redirected.

I don't know if this is a bug or not but when using sword and shield abilities on enemys i can't stand in front of them and just push the button for the ability. I have to run towards them even though im standing right in front of them and have them targeted, the regular attack works fine at that range but the abilities are blacked out and can't be used. This mainly happens on rage demons and spiders but have happened on the high dragon too.

Yeah, it seems that the standard attack forces you to be a certain distance from enemies. Unfortunately this distance can be greater than your talent range. The effect is most noticeable on large enemies like dragons and giant spiders, but sometimes pops up with humanoids as well.
