I just got the game and everything is registered correctly, and I'm playing on a Imac:
2.8Ghz
Intel Cor i7
Memory: 4GB 1067MHz DDR3
At the beginning, right when Hawke's sister asks, "Where are we going?" the game stops. The music keeps playing, but everything freezes and I have to shut down my computer to get out. Anything you guys could do?

Not sure. Perhaps try lowering some of the graphic settings for at least that part?

Not sure but this reminds me of a DA:O bug I had. I could get around it by choosing another companion to trigger the scene. So instead of moving your main char forward to where the scene happens use Carver or heck even Bethany. Surprisingly this solved it almost consistently for DA:O

I'm having the same problem on a 27" iMac with most of the graphics options turned up. Opt+Cmd+Esc to Force Quit the game is working at least but it is a bit annoying anyways. Have happened three times during the two days I have played..

I am also experiencing this issue. Happens only during cut scenes. Music continues to play, mouse pointer disappears, graphics are frozen. I also have the 27" iMac (ATI Radeon HD 4850).

Strange... It hasn't happened for me once yet... Guess I'm lucky! It did happen quite a bit for DA:O
