I just got to year seven, and went into Merril's house.  She was crying about how the keeper died and her people hate her, but this hasn't yet happened in my game.  After consoling her about a death that never happened, the Eluvian dissipeared from her house.  This seems like the ending to a quest, but I didn't get the quest to start it.  Has anyone else gotten this bug? Is there any way to combat it?

Edit: I'm playing on the 360 version as well.

I had the same exact thing happen to me, and I am playing on PC. Every time I go to her house I get forced into that scene. I've yet to figure out what it relates to or how to fix it.

I'm going to try going through the game without visiting her house for a while, hoping I'll get the beginning of the quest later (and I'll save every time before I visit)

Was hoping for a definite answer, but I guess I'll be the guinea pig.

I just got that too. Didnt know it was a bug, and it confused the crap out of me. Someone said that they got the bug and were still able to do her quest. Apparently if you keep talking to her the quest will trigger

That's good to know.  It still kind of sucks that I had to have spoilers rammed down my throat, but eh, so long as I get to see what the heck she does with that eluvian...

I had a similar bug. I got the quest to go see the trapped demon, but then I got a cut scene before I even started it of Merril smashing the mirror. The quest didn't go away so I completed it, but with the mirror destroyed the results made no sense.

Yeah, you're supposed to get that scene AFTER doing the Sundermount quest in act 3. The same thing happened to me... I walked into it cold and am going 'what the frig?'

Fortunately, you could still complete the quests after. Just, holy damn man.

yeah i go that quest before i got her personal quest where the keeper actually dies in. so i was all confused. i figured she just died of old age or something lol

I got that as well. Really just confused me. Thought she was talking about the hostility towards her, nit that

That was a bug? I thought I just missed a detail in my journal or something. Ah that just happened last night right before I stopped playing.

yea same deal for me though it all worked out in the end. I hope Bioware patch's this up.

How did you get it to work out?  I had the same bug, and I think im getting toward the end and I havent been able to trigger her quest.  Its pretty frustrating, she never says anything when I talk to her otehr than how much she dislikes her house.

I never got the mirror smashing scene at all even after completing her quest.

It'll come up.  I talked to her, then went around and did some sidequests for a bit, and just as I was wrapping them up, a quest came up to talk to her, which started the chain.  It kind of sucks because she'll be talking about a mirror that isn't there... and I never got a 'mirror smashing' scene, just her crying over the mirror.

Fix is only possible using PC and the developer's console to activate the next quest to then kill the Pride Demon. Sorry, hopefully they'll release a patch for this soon.
