I haven't found any issues regarding anything anyone has reported (that I've noticed), and saving and loading were working just fine. Yet last night I had decided to save after a few hours, so I headed to Gamlin's house, saved, and then quit out of the game with no problem. I had come back earlier today to continue playing, and had found that the load game option at the main menu was greyed out.  I immediately directed myself to here to find that just about everyone was having an issue with saving.

I realized saving, not loading, was the huge problem occurring, so I dug further and found only one true topic asking about the loading issue, only to be drowned by posts of people not being able to save.  Checking through my files, I had noticed that my profile with my character and saves had been in the correct folder the entire time.  I thought I would attempt to make another character to solve this so when I arrived at the beginning area right after the cutscene with Hawke talking with the family, I attempted to save. 

Fortunately, I can save just fine, yet when I tried loading the previous character from that menu, along with the main menu, having the load game option available, the original character seems to not exist anymore. I've attempted to use quite a few of the fixes posters have used, with no success, so I thought that it may be a small technical issue, or I may need to just restart the game with said character. Anyone else find a fix for that or is replaying 7 hours (most of the quests in Kirkwall finished, only 3-4 main quests, including the Deep Roads quest and 2 side quests left) the best option?

IF you path to \\Documents\\BioWare\\Dragon Age 2\\Characters do you still see your character in there?

And, so I'm clear, new characters you create can be saved/loaded just fine?

Ahh, well what I had done, was installed Dragon Age 2 to my D: drive due to C: almost being full, so when I played yesterday, my character was being loaded from D:/Dragon Age 2/bin_ship/BioWare/Dragon Age 2/characters, or it had not yet decided to want to load from my C: drive. When I checked in my documents folder only my other character was present, and yes new characters could be loaded.

I went ahead and copy/pasted the original character to the documents folder in my C: drive and it loaded up perfectly. I can't believe I had an oversight on such a simple solution. Thank you for the help and the idea to check that folder. Otherwise, as I stated, the game works perfectly for me and I have had no issue.
