So I just found my mom... totally heartbroken.
Anyways, so afterwards Isabela talks to me in my house and it was great. Then she mentioned Aveline and I get a quest to talk to Aveline. I talked to Aveline, and now I have no quest or anything for Isabela. I heard that around this point you get her next quest, but now I am worried that I talked to Aveline now I won't be able to have a relationship / romance with Isabela. I heard there was a certain order you had to talk to companions at this part to get the romance moving forward.
Did I screw up? When does Isabela's next quest trigger? I just have the quest to check the mail for a letter from the viscount for the Qunari stuff.
What do I do now to do things I mentioned above?

Make sure you find the two gifts for Isabela, one in act 2 and the other in act 3. Check the romance thread in the companion forums for more info, which tells how to romance each character.

there's a quest involving isabela later,but it's part of the main story. i thought that saving dupuis would make a difference for leandra... guess not. merrill didn't talk to me at all afterwards - i'm breaking up w/ her

I heard about the first gift in Act 2 after I finished that quest, so I missed it. *Angry*
But, I have her full friended so it shouldn't be a problem; should it?

Not sure if you need to have given her both gifts or not. The actual achievement for actually being in a relationship with her (I guess meaning it's officially a relationship) doesn't come until near the end of the game (similar to how relationships played out in ME2).

Getting her to max friendship isn't hard just flirt with her and pick the funny responses (middle). The second gift is easy to miss cause you have no other reason to enter that passage on the docks map however there is a vendor in there as well got some nice stuff. I had her love before I found the second gift so it isn't needed.
