Where is Varric's last one? It's not in the "Master" chest is it? I read where one person said it was the idol, that if you had him keep it.

Ah nevermind, although when I told him to keep it i did get SOMETHING.. did it give him a bonus to attack or something?

Honestly, I really don't get why "official" guides dont' get info direct from the publisher and therefore be 100% accurate.  It really annoys me to pay for a book that has incorrect information.

I had 2 no-shows with the armor upgrades. I never got Anders' upgrade in the Dissent quest and I never got that piece of Aveline's armor that is supposed to be on Jevan's body. Just like everyone else.

The armor for Anders is there. According to my notes after you defeat the templars theres a set if rooms to the right as you go up the stairs. The Armor is in one of the creates.

does the armor upgrades have any effect on the armor visually? does it make any changes other than adding rune slots?

What I got is an extra 3 rune slots on Bianca, giving it 4 total slots. Nice big boost to damage with that.

I didn't get the one from Jevan's body either. :\\

finally a solid response... This does kinda bum me out (I'm an obsessive
completionist **** T_T) but I guess there's no way around it since I play the
xbox version... oh well. :/



And about the armor changes everyone keeps asking
about, yes SOME armor changes, but not all. Ander's gets a black robe after the
quest that **SPOILER ALERT** has him gathering materials to bomb the chantry
**SPOILER ALERT** and Merrill changes when she moves in with you should you
romance her. Aveline changes in Act 2 to reflect her status as Captain, and
Bethany and Carver both change to reflect their status as Grey Wardens. I
assume the same is true of the Templar/Circle outcomes but I haven't gotten
them yet. There are no costume  changes for Isabela, Sebastian, or Varric,
and as Fenris's romance quest glitched on me I do not know if he does or not.
Hope this clears things up

Gonna have to correct you on this one. Whether it's a glitch or not, I don't know... but if you use the Maker's Breath potion from the Black Emporium to respec Isabela, she changes into a slightly different costume. The armor on her left arm is sharper, her corset is black, and a few other minor changes. No idea WHY that's the way you change her outfit, but ... there you have it.

You can only get Varric's final upgrade for his armor if you upload a Warden that has recruited Nathaniel and he saved by the end of Awakening. 
Default Wardens dont offer this, its assumed that Nathaniel is dead on recommended Default Warden. 

So you can say Varrics last upgrade is a reward for playing Awakening.

Thats not true, I was able to get the armor by using both the Martyr background and the "Evil" background (Sorry forgot the name for it.)
