*Puts the torch to Chikkenstorm because s/he asked, and Sabriana is a nice girl*

But
seriously, I'll have to wait and see how it looks on a female character
before I can form an opinion. Or have I missed a screen-shot/video
where a female PC wears it? If I did, I'd appreciate a
link/info/something.

He ;) I mean, could you imagine a girl choosing 'chikkenstorm' as her nickname? I couldn't, but that could be me.
And I don't think there's a screenshot of female blood dragon armour, but I haven't seen all the screenshots either.

Oh, and thanks for the torch ;)

Well, I know that there is a slang for girls in english, "chick", so I wasn't sure whether you username had a relation to that (or even a mocking relation).

Well, I guess I'll have to wait how it looks on females, then (the armour, I mean, not the chicks, or even the chikkenstorms).

And you're welcome, I love to give out warmth.

Oh, I hadn't actually looked at my nickname that way (though I knew the slang)... It comes from a game called Age of Mythology, where there was actually a power that would rain down chickens on the battlefield. And then the chickens exploded. Very funny.

Anyway, I'd love to go back on-topic, but I don't have anything useful to say. I already said that I didn't like it.

personally i like ME one, it kinda looks like a futuristic mid age armor, that i think was the goal

the DAO version seem ok cept the glowing helm, still difficult to judge whitout seeing them ingame and just from small cuts

One wonders if the Blood Dragon armor being available in ME2 insinuates that the Mass Effect and Dragon Age universes are in fact the same.

Or maybe I am just remembering the days when lore was tight like that...

If the armor is fairly good for a low level (starting) character i'm sure i'll use it regardless of how it looks. What matters to me is that it is a significant improvement over what's already available. Not that i think any of your are wrong who don't like the look of it, i just have a different point of view.

As a matter of fact, I tried choosing the name chickkenstorm, but it was taken.  And I'm female.  This is the internet, you can't prove otherwise!

Well, I didn't take chickkenstorm, I took Chikkenstorm. And I was talking about Chikkenstorm, not chickkenstorm ;)

I find the blood dragon armor a bit out of place in DAO too... But the armor from ME2 is pretty cool and not so out of a place, 'cause after all a glowing armor seems to be normal in a sci-fi world, isn't it ?

Just skipped straight to reply after reading first post, so I dont know if anyone has already said this.

But to me the Blood Dragon Armor in DA:O looks similar to something a Templar would wear, kind of like Assassins Creed Templars. But the Mass Effect 2 Armor looks so sick that it doesnt have to fit in.

ME2 is where it will look out of place.

Agreed, but only due to the blood on the armor imo. It'll still be awesome though.

Well they could be tied in some how. we will just have to wait till ME2 launches and see how they make the armour tie in. i hope they do a good job.

Also to stay on topic i think they both look out of place also. i like the ME2 one better cause i hate templar style armour. but as grantrk said if its good low level armour ill use it and be happy.

Yes I think you might be Posted Image.

I think it indicates they are both published & developed by the same companies and they think its a cool marketing gimic.....These are the days where marketing is king.

I can understand that, for me it has to look good in the game setting for me to put it on my character, since I have to look at the character a lot. But I can understand the point of view that you just want to max how effective the character is.

Although I didn't play ME1 I might play ME2, if the reviews make clear that it's an enormous improvement. The blood dragon armor is not a temptation for that. It won't make any of the games richer. It's not like it was like the lightsaber for the Jedi. It's just something to make the features and content list on the back of the package or at online stores look more satisfying.

Does look out of place to me as well.

It just looks like an afterthought to me, like they have just cooked it up at the last minute to rake in more cash....Very dissapointing;(... Not bad stats tho :)

i dont my opinion will matter much but yees the Armor looks wayy sweeter on ME2 than on DA:O...maybe they should switch the armor for ME2 instead...

I put it on once, took it off and never used it since. It belongs in Mass Effect, not Dragon Age.

The hipguards look silly... The belt looks like it has lamps, not magical glow... The helmet is okey though, Looks like a helmet doies... But overall the armour get a somewhat "plastic spacesuit" style that is just fugleh...

The DA:O one that is, haven't seen the actual ME2 version... And ME2 isn't on my wishlist either, not a hardcore Sci-Fi fan, more "Medievalstyle Fantasy".. ;)

I was very disappointed with the way they had designed the blooddragon Armor,
my character was walking around looking like something from Battlestar Galactica.
They should've given it the same design as the juggernaut or Dragonscale armor.
