Ok DA2 beat it love it not going to spoil it here!

When I play the game using my 5.1 surround system it plays sound perfectly except when conversational dialog is being used (when you actually have to choose an answer to a NPC question) when this type of dialog happens the sound for the voice overs only comes out of my front left speaker! this also happens durring cut scenes which if i turn the speakers way up it counters this (or at least appears to) but then a fight makes you deaf due to the super loud music and sound effects which i can disable but that takes the fun out of the game for me.

Now if I select force the stereo sound option in the configuration panel it works but of course it is not surround. other dialog works fine (party bantar durring explore mode)

The demo had no such issues however, I am using the steam version and my computer more then meets the requirements.

AMD Athlon II 620 Quad Core 2.4ghz
12gb DDR2 Ram
2x ATI Radeon HD 5830 in a Crossfirex setup
27" HD monitor running at 1920x1080 over HDMI (not using the monitor speakers here but when i tried them the game works but is very horrible sounding as the speakers on the monitor plain suck)
Integrated sound capalbe of 7.1 surround configured in 5.1 with rear not side speakers.

I have tried a number of different settings here to make this work except dropping into DX9 mode! I am hesitant to do this because the quality is so much worse for me. If this is a viable troubleshooting step however I will try it.

Currently as of (5 minutes prior to writting this post) I am running in windowed mode. Hi-res textures are installed

dxdiag shows no errors and I am out of useful details or ideas comments/suggestions appreciated
