Ok, bioware. I'm really annoyed over this product.

I think the OP simply presented his argument wrongly.

The real issue he seems to have is the fact Carver's survival depends entirely on luck of draw (ie. just so happening to have Anders in your party). Aside from anything else, the 4-party limit is only supposed to be there for gameplay purposes with other characters following you in the plot, hence why they just pop up sometimes even when not in your party. In reality, you'd have all your allies with you and so this situation makes no sense plotwise.

A better handling of this would've had Anders to simply appear and come to Carver's rescue because all this does is make you reload the last save, pick Anders, do the scene again, sub out Anders, etc. - silly.

Honestly I found this game to be average. To me the story sucks but I liked the combat. And your companions quest those were great and actually diverse from one another. As for the bugs in the game, only two really bothered me, one in combat and the Merril quest..Like I said all together an average game, but this wont stop me from playing it and other Bioware games again, when they release the Epic Edition of this game I will buy this again.

That's not what I meant.

The only way to save carver is to bring Anders along with him.

Or leave Carver at home.

Seriously, even Leandra warns you before Hawke heads to the Deep Roads with his sister/brother. If the game yells out at you that bringing a sibling is risky, you shouldn't be suprised when they die. Seriously. Posted Image

While I agree that having your sibling leave you (for a vast majority of the game) no matter what is lame if they are already full party members, having them live or die depending on things that you do in different playthroughs is great.

...actually, Bartrand says pretty clearly "You won't be able to bring everyone along anyway" or something along those lines right before the party window pops up...

I'm pretty sure leaving Carver at home will make him *pretty* furious. In any case this wasn't a case of tragedy but bad writing. I remember some guy writing about 5 ways a gamer will cry or feel emotional about on gamespot.com.

Carver was an annoying bugger a whole lot in the game, and I was hoping to see redemption of some sorts, and I spent a lot of time trying to raise his friendship rating, as well as spending a riduculous amount of time trying to fight Ancient Rock.W.

At this point, when I suddenly got dude dies from blight, where such a convenient ploy is used to incite sympathy or sadness without any semblance of style or thought towards the gamers... I really only have, what the hell Bioware, I expected better writing?

This isn't about who's warning you who's going to die. I want my direction and my freedom to choose who dies and who lives, especially when I put in effort. Spending some 20 hours to only finally finding out I have limited options makes me pretty mad.

No options to change your companions armour (minor issue), no stats checking to persuade/intimidate NPCs (I finished chapter 1 and there was no such stats usage, big issue), heck I wonder if all three options lead to one conclusion (is there any point in me playing any longer), and all these makes me feel that this is not a bloody RPG. It's some action game dosed with RPG elements. ME 2 was suited to be an Action game, and even then I'm pretty sure paragon/renegade stats checking was used.

You can be very sure I won't be buying DA 3 without the reviews coming out first. Huge disappointment. Considering how this game turned out, I think waiting to see how ME 3 turns out first is also a good choice. I can live without extra DLCs and bonus MP3s/artwork. I supported bioware games (KOTOR/ME series/DA series) because there was no need to doubt the role playing elements, but this is really a farce.

"I am so bad at this game it must be bioware that made me suck" summary of what he said. Basic   "I cant win a boss fight so I am going to try in poke holes in every part of the game." grow up

The boss-battles got on my nerves too...to the point where I just wanted to abandon the whole game. My rogue killed stone wrath, no problems there, but dragons and whatnots...I had a normal difficulty, and it could take me a half an hour to kill one dragon. Without dying once. That was so damn frustrating. Adding tons of health to the boss does not make the combat more difficult, it just makes it last FOREVER.

In the end I had lost half of my companions because I avoided spoilers and did not know how to keep them. Even my boyfriend dumped me, or so I think. I have no clue. There was no way to check that. I never SAW Isabela, because nothing told me I should have gone to certain place in certain time or I will lose her. I don't expect the game to hold my hand, but companions should make themselves at least known without me needing psychic skills to find them. I never used Leliana, but at least she offered her services.

So, in the end I had only Merrill, Aveline, Fenris and Varrick. And Merrill has no healing skills.
