Personally I am at 18 hrs on Act 1, 14 hrs on Act 2, and 1 hr into Act 3 and I would guess it will take 7-8 hrs total for Act 3. Then again I talk to everyone and open every crate and go through every area in daylight and night in Kirkwall then revist every area multiple times to see if new quests or items are available there. If you talk to your companions often it helps.

So it counts your time while dead and reloading? I'm going to be playing it on nightmare my second run through, which will begin tomorrow. But how do you get an extra 10+ hours just form longer combat because of more hp etc in enemies w/e?TcheQ wrote...
Tha'ts because they are playing on nightmare, and you are not.

I just don't understand how people can get 40+ hours in unless they are just staring at a wall for hours on end.
I did every quest I could find, did practically everything, got most achievements (I missed the dark blob big boss battle w/e it is) and I beat it in 31 hours. Even then, I didn't exactly rush. I wandered around a bit.

I'm playing on normal and going to be pushing 40 by the end, Act 2 kept on giving side quests when I thought it wasa coming to an end. I kept stumbling into random encounters and side quests when just roaming the streets at night!! Even found an underground passage with a new merchant I never found before who had an awesome bow for sale!!
Do people check their mail and chantry board for extra quests? I know I had some quests that others did not have as I went into the Deep Roads at least twice and had 3 missions at the mine before the end of act 2.
I think also some quests dont carry over unless you trigger the start of them in act 1 or 2, I guess this will cut down on the playtime for some people if they didnt find them.
Didnt have time to stair at walls!! LoL!!!

Yes, Foxhole I actually did do about 95% of the quests. I only missed one big one.
Hmmm fair enough, its odd the varying times then. I also had the DLC which gave me a few more missions as well.
Seems like the average is about 35 overall anyway.

I'm admitting to the one I bolded, not all the time but quite often on sidequests and other stuff that doesn't seem that important - you only miss the "acting" you still know what was said.Ignoble Fat Man wrote...
Well I would say that those of you beating the game in under 30 hrs are doing one of a number of things. Either pressing escape through every cut scene, not talking to all of your compatriots, not picking up all of your quests via messages, not picking up all of the optional quests you get when exploring, playing on easy, or any number of things I am not thinking of.

I think its quite possible if doing just the obvious quests that show up and main quests to beat the game under 30 hours. Im tempted to do one playthrough with minimal amounts of quests.
also BUMP! for votes

Played on Normal.
2nd playthrough just started.
Enjoyable, but also disappointing. A good game, but, not, IMHO, great like DA:O was.

My second where I pretty much did everything took around 52-54.Playing on normal both times.
This was the same for Origins for me and ME1 was only 30-35 hours with all side quests done, so I'm more than happy with the length.
