So, the final quest where you fight against you know who, I was able to save the Keeper, but somehow, the game automatically restarted the boss battle, at the half-mark checkpoint, and the Keeper died.

Reloaded my save file, the same thing happen. And as we left the camp, drama and a bit of genocide occured, and there is like no conversation to be had with Merrill afterwards, she would just spout her generic lines at Hawke's mansion or her house.

Is that a bug? Or was that supposed to happen?<_<

It was supposed to happen. I couldn't save the keeper either. whichever choice I chose in the conversation the outcome was the same.
