The score I would give it, the basic version straight out of the box, is an 8.2.
The game has much room for improvement on quite a few small things, and that adds up. However, the score itself is useless because of this, because when the toolset comes out many of the problems that the game has can be fixed by the community. The score when that happens would be somewhere around a 9.
rate the game on a scale 1-10 once and for all!

I'm having a really good time playing DA2 and liking the changes they've made. My only problem is the re-use of dungeons.

So far, about a 7.5, 7.6. It's an alright game, but it's not Bioware's best by a long shot. The tiny text doesn't help in a game that has a lot of text, the reuse of enviroments feels lazy, I don't feel the same kind of emotional connection to the characters of DA2 as I did with the characters of Origins, and even Awakenings.
Still it's not terrible, but it's nothing great, just average.

6 i really was expecting more of continuation of the dragon age story not a new stand alone i really enjoyed the new combat system and the crafting the story was meh i never really got as involved with the characters i liked some but i never cared for them to me the ending just left me with a sour taste i wanted more maybe dlc will make it better for me but so far i was disappointed

A great game imo. good animations, good story, fun companions, fun combat and quests that gave me incentive to do them. the biggest drawback is the re-use of textures in dungeons.

~ 6.8 (PC version)
It's ok but not great, basically a console game ported to the PC. The constant reuse of areas is quite frankly beyond lazy and utterly inexcusable.

I'm gonna go ahead and reduce my former rating of 9/10 to 8/10 because of the unsatisfying ending. It's like the writers couldn't be bothered to come up with something more creative even after doing great work on the rest of the game.

7, at most.
this is the last time i will pre-order bioware games. half the world size of origin, half the conversation, dumbed down... everything. certainly does not deserve the 9+/10 the review sites give(wonder if they got paid, or actually believe this is up to par with dragon age origin).

8, the PC-game
Have not finished the game yet but thus far I dont have very many big complains.
The reuse of environments are vary bad/boring.
The targeting in combat is a pain. Very often I cant target the creature I want to because others are others in the way or some pillar/rock is. Also, its hard to see where you are aiming the aoe stuff.

The new fighting style is great and the graphics are good, but there is a big fail in other areas. For example (relationships, companion armor,.....etc. etc.)

9.5 ... it has a few issues which could be fixed, but it is well worth the playthrough. (I say this, placing only Planescape:Torment at the10 mark)
