superb game, quests in kirkwall remind me of BGII chapter 2-3, the cinema team did wonders, plot is original, the deep roads don't look depressing any more
-0.5 because some recycled dungeons.

7.2 - an better than average game but not in the same league as origins. reduced rpg elements were the wrong direction for this kind of game in my opinion. hope bioware thinks about changing theirs.

7.8 - It's a good game and I'm having a lot of fun with it, but it doesn't make me feel the same sense of awe and immersion Origins did.

I would like it and I wanted to believe it's not rush, but man, redundant area layout...?
Still the combat and story is great.

Glad my friend bought it. It saved me the 60 bucks. Still it hurts that there will never be a great game like BG again

I enjoyed it but eh there are way too much flaws to give it more than that. I guess I was hoping for too much. Ah well.

9.5 (0.5 withdrawn due to glitches, re-used areas and the rushed feel of Act III)
Compared to DA2 with its gripping drama, intense writing, tragedy and issues, DAO plays out like a children's book. Never mind the improved fighting system, the more realistic graphics and the greatly improved pace of the storytelling. Each quest is meaningful and connected. Party members connect via banter and cutscenes. There is no "right" way to play this.... It's incredible.

7 - Didn't have high hopes for this game. was pretty much as I though it would be. Felt all rushed, flawed. Loved Varric though!

I'm loving the more personal story (just reached act 2). DA:O was standard save the world stuff which is been there, done that. Both are very good games.
The combat in DA2 needs refining a bit though, slightly too fast for my taste, but it's entertaining and feels like coordination is required now - unlike Origins where a mage heavy party could obliterate everything in its path with zero tactics.
Overall DA2 is a great game with several annoying problems (mostly combat related) but nowhere near the disaster that some people proclaim it to be.

I'd give it a 5 if I'm being generous. It's decisively average, and an insult to fans of the original

I havent played any game in the last year I like better. Course I only play RPG'ish games, so the market is very light.

I'll give it a 6 (assuming 5 is the average).
In terms of overall quality it's certainly not a bad game... I've played plenty of bad games. But as a sequel to a classic it's not really fit for purpose. I'm currently going through the early stages that reviewers refer to as the 'off-putting first act', so i'll stick with it for the time being.... but it's really hard going.

I'll give it a 7.5
It's not a bad game on its own merits, it feels slick and the combat plays away nicely, but the game feels like it's lacking its RPG soul and I feel less attached and immersed than in DAO. Also DX11 being virtually unplayable on nvidia keeps me from rating this above 8.0.
