I see 8.5 as average for an AAA title
The other Bioware games that I've played I'd give as follows:
Me1: 9.5
Me2: 10
DAO: 10

I would have to say 7..
It should have been coming this christmas or march 2012. It feels rushed.

7.5/10
All in all the game's not bad, a major con is the recycled dungeons and this distinctly OTT combat and magic (especially in the final battle) as well as most of the creatures in the game being resistant to pretty much every magic spell you throw at them... It's no fun playing a mage if most of your spells just bounce off, although being a mage does add some fun to the story!
Another thing that still disappoints is that being a blood mage STILL has absolutely no effect on anyone it might've been nice to have a 'blood magic' icon in certain conversations, so you could force people to tell you things or say things you want them to, and the blood magic enslavement spell is over far too quickly (10s is WAY too short, by the time they've finished their first attack, it's already worn off).
However to give credit where credit is due, they did address some concerns over the previous DA:O.
I take it no-one noticed that the city that the game is set in is a lot more lively than Denerim ever was?
The Tactics system has been improved and more complex command structures are possible.
The engine is very good as well, delivering medium settings at a decent 50FPS on my Sapphire Radeon X1950XTX, although it does still seem to have a memory leak somewhere.
The story (at least in my opinion) is pretty good, interesting enough to keep you following it, but not overwhelming all other aspects (I'm a BG1&2 IWD1&2 player BTW).
All in all however, not a bad game... Still needs some polish though and thus more time 6 months extra would've been a good idea, and they definitely should've made it a spin off and not a continuation!

I'd go for 8.5/10.
For me, this is every bit as good as Origins. Sure its different in alot of ways, but that doesnt always mean bad. I'm sick of sequels basically just giving the first game a bit of polish. Rehashing a very similar game as a sequel would be equally as lazy and added nothing to the Universe.
The story is more personal. Its about one man rather than one nation. Its about his rise to power, not saving the world. It immersed me in the culture of Kirkwall and its people. It didn't feel like I was just there to save the day. It felt like I belonged to the city. Which was awesome.
Loved the characters. All the companions had good quests, some of which linked with the bigger missions of the game. Having a voice adds another dimension to my characters. I'm not just receiving replies, I'm interacting with other characters within the game.
Marked down because of rehashed dungeons. More work should have go into making them more unique. And the ending was too sudden and abrupt for my liking but, it sets the scene for what could be an epic DA3.
I loved Origins. It remains one of my all time favourite games. DA2 adds a different perspective to the Dragon Age Universe. It tells a more personal tale, not simply the "you must save the world" story. For me at least, DA2 is a welcome addition the Dragon Age Universe.

The game displays hints of greatness, the combat system is nice as are the graphics and the story shows signs of excellence But:
There is little no no customization as its basically all useless. Reuse of environments is a load of rubbish!, the story is disjointed and unrelated. There is so many plot holes in this game its a wonder you can call it Dragon Age 2, except for the mention of Wardens now and then!
Its short, boring, the characters are boring and some of the things they do within the story is unbelievable!
Alas, Bioware have really let their fans down. I say Scram to making a game more "accessible" If it ruins the bloody thing.

Brilliant. The combat and presentation are greatly improved from DAO. My only complaints are the reuse of environments and few lost opportunities to tighten up the menus. (Consider being able to select a plot marker on the map and *gasp* jump to the quest description!)

I'd give it a higher rating if there were more maps (though to be honest I'm enjoying the story/characters so much that I don't really care about maps). I'd also give it a 10 if there were not some missed dramatic opportunities in some of the scenes, and if we could talk to our companions even more. (I know they have as much dialogue as in Origins, and that it's just spread out, but I think many of us miss the clusters of conversations we could have. I like the spread out dialogue though, so I guess I just want more and more dialogue.)

+ Characters, Story, Graphics and fully voiced player character are great
+ personally I prefer the more action orientated combat system
- repeating Dungeons, limited area (Kirkwall & surronding), shorter play time are not so great
- some annoying bugs (temp freezing, quest/companion bugs)
Well, with an patch Bioware could get rid of the annoying bugs and with one or two larger story DLC (like ME's "Shadowbroker") the general play time could be increased and we could be able to visit new, more unique locations outside Kirkwall. So Bioware could improve everything I dislike in DA2 with a few months more work. If they fix all the bugs and extend the game's content, maybe I will raise my rating in two or three months up to 8.5/10 but now I will just give it 7/10 mostly because of the bugs and repeating areas/dungeons.

Overall improved combat. Great characters. Still feels like it was rushed in development with copied environments, Act 1 being the longest, and the copy/paste abilities on most companion's "unique" skill trees ..
For the hell of it :
ME1: 9
DAO: 9
ME2: 8.5

9/10 (same as I'd give DAO)
+ Lovely story as always, dark, funny
+ Love the new combat system
+ Love the friend/ Rival system (huge huge improvement)
+ New art direction is sweet
+ VO'd character for ever please! No more mute dudes!
- Repeating dungeons and locals........ They looked beautiful but needed to be more varied.
- Wish romances had a bit more to them. Not MOWR! But maybe a little more development sprinkled through Act 1.
- Default Hawke's beard looks weird under his chin! From the front it looks full and from the back looking under his ear it's smooth. hahaha Give the beard model some love!
**The only 2 bugs I've encountered is when Hawke was stuck with his arms out like he was wielding 2 knives, but had no knives in his hands which made some of the dialog scenes kind of funny. The other is at some points my whole party would flicker and warp in cut scenes. Was quick but weird.
I've been reading the negative reviews and they are way to harsh. I am in the camp of things have NOT devolved, they are just different.

6.5 out of 10
It's a shame. This is what inevitably happens when an intellectual property becomes popular. It happens in gaming, music - just about any form of entertainment. Big Brother, in this case EA, puts pressure on the creators to pump out a product as fast as possible to capitalize on their popularity. As a result, quality suffers.
It's not a bad game, but it needed more development/time.

- Recycled maps
- Very transparent attempt at artificially extending the length of the game - Not having a centralized area for communicating with and equipping companions. They could have used the Hanged Man for that. Instead you spend a lot of time staring at a loading screen just to talk to your friends/rivals. Also having to switch out party members just to level and equip. Again, could have used the Hanged Man as the new "camp" - Mod Request! I'll be your bff, lol.
- Work for the smugglers. She says if I'm looking for more work after Loose Ends, just sign myself up using her books. Walk to her right/your left and a stone slab disappears to show a book that I'd assume you use to pick up more quests. But there are no more quests. They didn't even have time to take that back out of the game. Too rushed. Sloppy presentation.
- The Who Needs Rescuing quest. Bugged, or unfinished. It actually isn't listed in any official game guides. They didn't have time to finish, or didn't have time to take it out of the game.
