There were alot of major pluses compared to the previous, such as faster, more intense and enjoyable combat. 2 Major things destroyed the game though;
Small RPG elements which were in the previous were removed from this, such as companion armour, tradeskilling etc. Big anoyance, but not major.
The major issue was the story and Kirkwall, it was god damn aweful! its supposed to be better than the previous not worse! also 90% of my time in Kirkwall is boring and a chore.

Could of easily had a 8-9 if the story was actually decent.

If this game was the start of a new series I'd probably give it an 8.5, but as the sequel to one of my favorite games of all time this is a big let down.

8/10. Post-patch Origins+DLC I'd put at 8.5. I think DA2 can surpass it with adequate support over the next year or so.

This is speaking from PS3 versions.

I think BioWare did an amazing job with DA2 under the time restraints that EA put up. I do hope for less rushing and reusing decors as well as a little more bug fixing and polishing next time though. Other than that, no real comments. Will be creating a 2nd character right after the first (real) patch comes out.
