 gonna go with a 4.

Combats been improved in the sense that its quicker and less sluggish, but everything else about it aside from the stat system is a step down in terms of difficulty and strategy involved.
.

Try hard or nightmare next time.

I played on hard from the getgo. Are you saying the game should only be played on nightmare to be slightly difficult?

7, and that's just the fan in me being nice.

This game had many improvements, yet all the flaws totally overshadowed it. I love bioware and all but for the first time, I am truly disappointed in them. They just ruined so much of what was good about the old game...I mean, you can no longer have convos with your team, have to buy potions now instead of make them for free, the pc version battles seem really clunky, mainly because of the faster pace I guess. And my lord the recycling done in this game I'm just at a loss for words. I honestly think after 35hrs of playtime I've seen only 5-7 areas?

Those were my main gripes, and now the not so serious things, the romances, the system seems broken & weird and the lack of convo you have with most of them outside quests, just leaves me not really caring in general. The chracters personalities are cool and all, but again, outside quests...we don't see much of it. Also, there seems to be an issue with DX11 on very high...pretty annoying but tolerable I guess. Sometimes the AI doesnt respond correctly to tactics they are assigned to, very annoying. I guess what I'm saying, is they just made this game way too linear. It's still fun, but a huge disappointment for a bioware game, or maybe my expectations in their games have just been set too high from previous titles.

Difficulty is subjective. I found DA:O on hard easier than DA:2 on hard. Perhaps it's simply the fact, that heal spells and potion have significant cooldowns, compared to Origins.
But the fights give me more trouble, hands down.

Which? difficulty is only partially subjective, I would LOVE to know what you found difficult in 2.

3, stupid animations, bad storytelling, no dialogue or depth, worse graphics and optimization. On the upside, cool companions.

Well, in Origings I had hardly dropping anyone below 50%. You had regeneration, group heal, normal heal and poultrices, all with very little cooldown. So you could literally spam heal (well, almost).
In DA:2 this is not the case, so if you make a mistake (realizing that 2 poisenous spiders nuke your mage, when he is already pretty much dead) and the meager 2 healing possibilities you have are already on cooldown, you are screwed.
In Origins you could always last a few seconds to get to the next heal.
Oh, and I found aggro management to be easier. The mobs really wanted to kill my tanks first, while in DA:2, once taunt runs out, the enemies tend to switch target quite swiftly.

Liked it better than origins, but felt some jokes were a little much (pretty much any conversation with isabela involved, even so still romanced her :) ) other then that really loved it especially carver with. The sibling rivalry.

What? What about the Warlocks on Origins? Not to mention unless you were nuking them two feet away, tanking was much easier on Origins, if you timed your skills right.

Maybe because we already uninstalled it? Regardless, how does not having a registered DA2 make your opinion on the game any less credible. Even if it's pirated it's the same exact game.

I'm still not convinced either way. Might I suggest a poll?

Feels rather rushed. Inconsistent textures, identical models being used right next to each other (those three wooden shacks directly to your left when you first enter Kirkwall), utterly horrible NPC textures, clashing with the nice player textures. Lackluster city areas. Just didn't enjoy it very much.

I like that idea, I just hope it doesn't get removed if it shows majority bad results.:(

as many others have said on here, it lost its appeal after a few hours. the over the top gore in combat seemed really forced, and i would really like to see a bioware game without romance options. graphics were pretty mediocre, though slightly better than the first. overall, i wouldnt recommend this to a friend, nor will i be purchasing another game in the dragon age series.

8.8/10

would of been higher if there was less recycled maps.

Edit: Not that it matters but I've checked all the pages so far and everyone who has the game registered has given it a 7 or higher. Mostly 8/10's not that it proves anything though

I was under the impression romances are optional. Much like DAO, ME etc... As is gore.

I worded that part about aggro management poorly. I meant it was easier in Origins, as well.
About healing being influenced by Warlocks, you mean curse of mortality?
Never was a real stopper for me. Disspell magic and everything.
Also, rogues could take out enemy casters wihtout them getting a single spell cast.
Of course there where some tricky encountera, when 2 casters where in one enemy group, but those occasions where rare, and with some planing no real problem.
But the limited healing is omniprestent in DA:2. It is one potion for everyone and in most cases one heal spell for an entire encounter. If the additional spawn comes from an unexpected angle (like right at your mage(s)) your are in trouble fast.
