Other Game Rankings avg. scores for comparison:
Baldur's Gate: 92%
Baldur's Gate 2: 94%
Neverwinter Nights: 89%
Star Wars: KotOR: 94%
Mass Effect: 91%
Mass Effect 2: 95%
Dragon Age: Origins: 91%
As you can see, DA2 is still the lowest of all of these Bioware games. People throwing scores lower than 70% at it are as full of **** as PC Gamer, though. Play more games and you'll know just how much worse they can actually be.

One thing I've noticed while looking at player reviews is that PC gamers generally rate it lower than DA:O, while console gamers rate it higher (I've read the professional reviews, and noticed that the text of the review is all the same, word for word between PS3, XBox and PC. Only the numbers change slightly). I'm curious to know the breakdown on the forum of rating by platform.
This have been stated a lot of times now. DA:O took full use of the advantages that mouse/keyboard have. The isometric view being one of the major features. DA:O in consoles was a poor port though and it was nowhere near the PC version. With DA2 the game plays the same on all platforms. It plays better than DA:O on consoles but worse on PC.
Plus PC gamers have always been in favor of more slow paced but more tactical gameplay. That's why games like DMC do not sell very well on PC.

Thanks. With no forum search, I don't have the time (or the patience) to wade through 600+ pages of threads to find the one that is relevant to PC vs. Console debates.

I must say that the art design of the game box is a prime example of a job well done. The contrast between the colors and the art style is very impressive. Sadly, that pretty much amounts to all the positive things I can say about DA 2.

Seriously, what supposedly makes this game so much crappier than DA:O? To me, DA:O was a pretty good game at best, not excellent or perfect. BG & BG2 were perfect but those days are long gone. I personally welcome the new combat, watching a 2H warrior swing his weapon made me fall asleep in DA:O. And even if the combat might not be the world's hardest, especially on normal (LOL), doesn't mean tactics don't excist. There's a big difference in killing your opponents quickly and smoothly or stumbling through them like an idiot.
Graphics...I played PC games during VGA/SVGA, I don't care. It runs smoothly so I'm happy.
And the story/characters...too early to tell but am not getting a wholly different reaction than what DA:O gave me. It's a new story among the several other stories I've already finished during these 19 years. Not the worst but perhaps not the best either. At least you get to have a life sorta, instead of "Monster X is destroying the world, prevent it!". Have to wait and see since I only played like 5 hours yesterday.
As for the customization...I can see why not having several races can be a bummer but I can live with that personally. Skills and such don't bother me. The simplification that is. DA:O didn't have THAT much skill tree choices. You chose a weapon style, filled in the class trees, filled in the specialization trees....????
There are some bugs like Dog not following (working as intended?) or my character being flagged as injured even if she didn't even die in combat (happened once) and the female running animation is kinda awkward. I mean, I have over-extending joints myself and I still don't run like that.
In general I think it's a good game, nice way to pass the time. That has been my attitude towards most games and it will continue to be so. I don't see the point in nitpicking and setting my standards on the coulds so I'm happy. A legend this one is not, neither is DA:O, but I've already set myself to the thought that there will never be games like BG again...the franchice isn't fresh enough anymore.
These are my thoughts. Personally.

I liked all these games, but some where lacking in gameplay, while ME2 did lack little bit in main story.
Star Wars KOTOR: 8.0/10
Dragon Age Origins: 8.5/10
Mass Effect: 9.0/10
Mass Effect 2: 9.5/10
I don't rate DA2, because haven't played it.

This was the last pre-order from bioware they just went into a different direction and are not the old school rpg game makers any more.

It is not as bad, as a lot of people make it, but it is not as great, as a sequel to DA:O should have been. The main issue I have are the lack of different maps. The combat is fun, the dialog wheel works great, the story is interesting (in my opinion,
