Hi all, thought I'd mess with making skydomes. Apparently it's not as easy as it sounds.
After awhile I was finally able to get a custom pic loaded as a skydome into an area. However, it's completely warped and distorted, looking nothing like the pic. I pasted it into the same size as one of the original skydome .tgas, but I guess there's more to it than just pasting.
Any pointers on how to get a good texture pic into a skydome? I was messing around with textures from

You have to be able to project it on the dome which is not flat, there are programs that do this. If you post on www.rwscreations.com hellfire has done a few of them and might be able to help.

El C, that's what I looked at to get my skydomein the area, but unfortunately, it doesn't go into setting up the image itself to make it look good in the area. Thanks for replying.

Can you post a pic of the sky dome that you did, that didn't turn out like you wanted?

Here's a pic within game:

The texture I used is located here:

Thanks.
All I did with the texture was paste it over one of the skydome textures that came with the game.

What you are wanting to do needs a Remapped Skydome. Since I had alrady done this, I added your image and tested.
Here is a link to the new skydome and texture, as you cna see its much different than the OEI skies.

Thanks for the work, Hellfire. So, if I were to use the same dimensions of the image, including the size of the repeat intervals, I should get something useable?
Or, is there a decent how-to I could follow on how to remap an image?
Thanks again.

Just use the sky dome I provided and use the image as a guide and you will have something usable.
