You cannot in good faith limit a persons ability to play a game because of a forum post.

I'm here because I love this community, and partly because this kerfuffle happened while I was moderating and I didn't want the forum full of posts all saying the same thing when the office opened tomorrow morning. So, in my zeal to keep the forum clean, well, y'all saw what happened. When I needed to go home, I left a thread open in the hopes that it would keep the discussion in one place. And it has (thank you).

I love your dedication for the community, even when they are in spite.

This is unacceptable. EULA or not. You lose Bioware/EA , you just lost a client. I won't accept a situation when you can ban me from using game I paid for because I called someone 'devil' on FORUMS!

Not a cool move, BioWare. Not a cool move at all. One cannot voice their honest opinions about a game they have paid for?

I registered here to let you know that I will never consider buying a BioWare game again. Utterly insane.

In all seriousness, this is exactly why some people pirate games.

It seems like pirating EA games is the only sensible approach, if you really need to play them. I don't, so they can go hang.

Restricting one's access to a single player game due to behaviour on forums is absolutely repulsive. I too will think twice before buying another game by Bioware.

Bioware just shot itself in the foot.

I just hope other people are working on Mass Effect and The Old Republic.

The argument is that a banned user cannot play the games they've paid for. I'm pretty sure this breaks consumer law.

Banned users can play their games.  They just have to create a new EA/Bioware account to authorize the game.

How about all the DLC people bought? I think all ME/DA DLC (by all I mean ALL that exist) I own worth more than one game.

lol This nonsense is still going on? Out of the things in this world war, murder, rape, child abuse and other such things like children dying from lack of medicine or clean water... This is what interweb people are choosing to spend their time moaning about for hours and hours now, that some dude got suspended from registering his game for three measly days. Seriously people get some perspective on your lives. This is the cause that your choosing to fight over all others? -.-

EA did this crap to me once.  I had my entire account banned, which suspended all the DLC I had for my Collector's Edition Mass Effect 2 and Dragon Age, plus the ones that I had purchased as well.  Bioware couldn't, or wouldn't help me, and calling EA and complaining, then pleading, didn't reverse their decision either.

I was livid!  But only for a while..

EA's B.S didn't end up having the effect that they wanted it to have.  I not only found a way to get back all of my DLC (and then some), it ended up costing THEM money in the end, and not me Posted Image

So the moral of the story is, shady business practices will always come back to haunt you.

Thank you.  This craziness will still be going on long after this guy has access to the game again.  The whole thing is ridiculous.  The user should use this time to go outside and do something productive instead of insulting a company on their site.

Don't you see how ironic your reply is? They're attacking bioware and you're defending it hard since the opening of this

Do you think of world war, murder, rape, child abuse and other such things like children dying from lack of medicine or clean water... when you're insulting others in order to defend bioware?

oh the irony... and out of all these things happening in the world even today (you could have mentioned the disaster in Japan...) you choose to spend your time in Bioware forums and not only that, but to a thread that looks ridiculous to you. And thats not all of it. You had to do an extensive post about it...defending Bioware/EA.

Yep, irony.

So what do you expect Videogamers to do against World Wars, murder, rape or child abuse ? We cant do anything against that but if we see that Bioware bans someone for having a bad opinion about them and not making them playing the game we will do the least we can do .. and that is "moan" about that dick move.

Google the defintion of Troll, kid.  Just because someone has another opinion doesnt make him a Troll and I suspect that you woudlnt even get it if someone would be trolling you.

Because of this incident. Dragon Age 2 is going to be my last EA game purchase (which includes everything from Bioware). EA games is a big company, so this is going to be a tough sacrifice. But as always, boycotts are easy when they don't matter.

Nothing short of no longer linking forum accounts to game accounts, a change to the EULA, and a public apology will dissuade me.

I have been silently watching this for now but I can't help it anymore when it comes to you, DragoonLordz.

You complain about the people who have a "nice join date", you complain about people that are just wasting their time to incite a mini-rebellion, and you complain about the frutility of all this so-called whining, yet you are still here.

Yet why can't you acknowledge that this is not about anything more than a company violating the consumer's right to his/her product? Days, weeks, years, or even meer hours, it doesn't really matter. They should not be allowed to decide when we can and when we can't have what we've already purchased.

If they do not respond to that, then I know they've lost my trust as a consumer.  I cannot trust someone who steals from me what is I have already paid for.

lucky for them there was no "side boob" involved or it would be all over the news!

Woah!, sorry guys, not read all the thread, but what I have read disturbs me, a forum member was locked out of his game for abuse?, if that's the case then it's a very bad move!, ban him from the forums sure, but to ban him from a game he paid for is way out of line, you idiots just gave piracy a boost!, geeze, is there anyone at EA/Bioware who actually thinks?

Yet your on Bioware site complaining instead of EA.. Go Figure... The people upset in a rage over this are the very, very tiny minority of both gaming population and a small amount of people. They haven't stolen from you in which case it becomes about what ifs and nothing short of a magic 8 ball scenario. You can call me whatever you wish but simple fact is this shouldn't be on Biowares site as they aren't the ones who suspended this person, so go to EA by all means and boycott or whatever. But use Bioware forums to talk about Bioware not EA.
