Funny thing about those terms and conditions... they dont hold up very well in court and what EA is doing is illegal. Go troll elsewhere.

pahahahha.
But seriously, why do you say I'm trolling? What I'm doing is being realistic. How can the terms and conditions be illegal? Thats absolutely ridiculous, and extremely wishful thinking.
This is like that massive thread that eventually got locked on the Modern Warfare 2 PC forums, where people were going to organise a lawsuit against Infinity Ward because of their inaccurate advertisement of MW2 on the PC. (re: matchmaking being better than dedicated servers). Nothing is going to happen, if people try to organise a lawsuit, everyone will chicken out.
The terms and conditions aren't illegal, they just don't hold up in court.
When you buy a game, you don't sign up to the EULA, so if, when EA/BioWare turn around at a later date and say 'Actually, you can't use your purchase unless you sign this additional agreement', you're well within your statutory rights to say 'Well, I had no option to see these conditions before I made my purchase and did not agree to anything at the time, thus any purchase made is no longer valid due to the additional agreements you are now forcing upon it.'

If we have accountability for our actions, so do YOU, Bioware and EA.
And Bioware is certainly out of their minds if they think a player wants to not only pay up front for ToR but also a monthly fee, knowing that if they hurt EA's sensitive feelings in their sensitive feelings area where they feel their sensitive feelings, they could be banned.
Or you're in a chat channel with a tech guy trying to get help, and it becomes frustrating, you get banned.
Or if you word something poorly, may not have even meant it, you get banned.
From the game.

Preventing him from posting on the forum is fine. It has happened to me and I sure as hell didn't complain back then. The issue is that they disabled his entire EA account. An account required in order to play games like Dragon Age II.

Not at all; I agree that he should be allowed to play his game. Nowhere in this thread did I state otherwise.
On the matter of EULAs, though, I feel that they are a moot point. When I walk into a store to buy a physical copy of a game, the last thing on my mind -- or any gamer's mind, for that matter -- is on a EULA. Gaming software companies that offer a physical product and offline play have no grounds to stand on by hiding behind a EULA, in my opinion.

All the big companies? Bah. Sometimes they make good games and make them worthwhile but sometimes they make half a game and expect you to pay another £20 for the other half.
Small companies? Yes, they're good.

Yes, its quite BS. A comment on a message board should not be grounds for losing the right to play your games. This feels like a violation of consumer rights. You can't, or shouldn't, be able to bury that kind of clause in the EULA and get away with it. In fact, it is illegal to do so.
Yes that is totally unacceptable. Forum bans are understandable, but banning a paying customer from a product he's purchased?
That is reprehensible and should definitely be illegal.

It's quite clear. I was here when it started. Someone came on here, linked the situation that happended and Mr. Woo responded, that is where you are getting that offical quote from. Do iave solid proof that it was exactly him who registerd numerous accounts so many times yesterday? no
But this was BEFORE anyone knew much about it. No one person would create so many accounts and spam the fourms repeatedly if they didn't have thier emotions tied into the game. You can aruge it was just someone else aruging on his behalf, yet I seen the vulgar vile comment they have posted here and no person would contouied to do that if he didn't have something invested in the game itself.
That was him, only way to prove it is to match the ISP to his ISP, however Mr. Woo doesn't ban the ISP when he bans so it's easy to create another account without having to even verify your email address, and it's simply the posting came here yesterday linked his thread which he was banned and sparked an outcry debate over it. It has to be him!, he obviously has been active enough to complain to everyone on the web. I for not am no longer listening to such a childish rant.
[/quote]
Funny if you have no proof then how can you condeem him as the one at fault? Also if you were "here at the beginning" then you can link the forum where he posted that he'd priate DA:2 which would show that he brought this on himself but im sure you cant. I've already been searching through the forums for something other then woo saying "use this forum to continue discussion" which is fine. Although the only thing im seeing is that he got temp banned for asking if bioware sold thier souls to the EA devil. Ignorance is bliss.

When I make a deal there must be hand written signatures of all parties. I could do a verbal only deal too, but so far I haven't made any deals with any software companies or forums. I have just right away ignored all EULAs.
But luckily I live in Europe where EULAs are toilet paper, as they should be.
Edit: When I see EULA "agreement" I just a see a button which I press and something awesome happens.

This comment is disgusting. I never thought I'd see the day where forum regulars come crawling out of their holes to defend the opaque, immature, unreasonable policies of a corporation solely because they enjoy their games. Why are these blindly loyal shield-bearers wading through the criticism posting ignorant rebuttals still here? These fools should be hired by EA.
Participation in the discussions here is a reality, not an easily dismissed incident.
Your misspelling of the word "allowed" is remarkably appropriate. To be "aloud" is to be heard, and that is EXACTLY our intention.

The disc-based version of the game contains notorious SecuROM DRM -- a controversial bit of software that invites itself onto your PC and is regarded by gamers as glorified malware.
