You cannot in good faith limit a persons ability to play a game because of a forum post.

Yes exactly, how dare the puny consumer make demands from the almighty and godlike gaming corporations, all bow your heads and step in line or thou shalt be smote

Anti-corporation views are fine on sites with forums that are about it, this unless you haven't realised yet is a Dragon Age 2 forum about a specific game. Like I said this is now irrelevant to this specific forum itself and I would have locked this thread by now tbh since the orginal guy has access to his DA2 copy. By forums basic rules this is now off topic of DA2 while before it was on topic because the orginal guy said he couldn't play DA2.

I agree.  I'm tired of seeing this damn thread every time I come to the forums. Doesn't EA have a board somewhere?  I also think it's hilarious that the person that got banned is still whining.

Like I said before, EA was doing that guy a favor by taking away his crappy DA2 game, its a waste of time that could spent doing other more meaningful things, like playing dragon age 1, or torchlight even

I will agree with you on that DAO was truly an epic game. A breath of fresh air in the RPG world from vast amount of jRPGs. Have yet to play DA2 though it is sitting right here next to me (arrived today still in wrapper) waiting to be at least tried and will be later today.

Yes DA:O was epic.  Everywhere you went it was a new and amazing environment.  Now its the same **** over and over again.  I hate it and I think Bioware is lazy for it.  I hope this will not be a model for their future games....

Can't you just create a separate username to use the forums from your EA account? Problem solved... or is it not that cut and dry?

But didn't they use this model between ME1 and ME2 and people liked that (though not me personally), which is
why they copy and pasted ME2 game mechanics into DA2? I think ME3 and DA3 will be the same as ME2 and DA2 only DA2 thaey have taken a vast amount of grief specifically about copy and paste of areas so I do not think that will be the same issue in DA3. However I do get the impression DA3 will be other than copy paste areas pretty much same as DA2 even though I would like them to make me a seporate game based os DAO call it DAO2 if want but that would be my ideal.

I think access to a game should be withheld if someone can't behave in a responsible manner.

I'm 32yrs old, been gaming since I was 14 and I'm tired of how the internet has opened the floodgates for every crybaby in the world to make demands to developers or post wrecklessly insulting things on their official forums.

If you behave like a child, expect to be treated as a child.

Disagreement in a public setting is not a grounds for removing private access from a purchased product.

Wasn't disagreement though was it? Look how many people on this forum disagree yet they don't lose access to their games. Why is that?

Abuse is not disagreement. For once, *just once*, some was held accountable for what they said on the internet.

And look how they bleat.

Your right to speak does not translate into a right to abuse.

I honestly don't see how the person mentioned by the OP could lose a case in court about this .. :x

Imagine if you bought a car and when it broke down you vented out your frustration about it and then the car company came wooosh and took the car away from him because of the evil words he said. No refund of course.

How would EA defend it in court? "But he said mean things /wrist "
