Just wanting to see what you guys found to be the most interesting non-companion NPC of the game.

I have to say the Arishok.  I found him fascinating and complex.  I would go from sympathetic for him, to wanting to kill him, back to sympathetic in a few lines. Even during the climax of the Qunari invasion, I wanted to appease him but could not sacrifice Isabela for that.  And that was really the Arishok... being on the cusp of understanding/compromise, but never being able to go over fully because of the nature of their culture and his personality.

Amazingly interesting character, even moreso than Meredith (as game antagonists go) I'd venture.

Talking with him was pretty good, but blowing him up was better. I offered him Bella but he still blamed me for something that happened some time before I met her. His inability to understand (fault of Qun culture) was his downfall and rightly so.

Hmm.  I don't know about most interesting, but the first thing that pops into mind is Cullen.   Not in DA2 by itself, but when you take Origins into account, he's very interesting.  He was so angry and anti-mage by the end of Origins, but then when you meet him DA2 he's pretty damn reasonable.

When I heard Cullen would be in DA2, I thought for sure he would be the most psychotic anti-mage templar in the entire game, but he's not.  Very interesting indeed.

Gamlen, he's an ass but he does have good reason to be. I might disagree with his choice to gamble and sell everything away, he was right about him staying and taking care of Grandma and Grandpa Amell while Leandra was out having babies.

I agree.  He was an awesome character.  I would have given him Isabela but I wanted that epic fight like the destiny trailer.

Hmph, I'm glad someone had an epic battle.  Mine was ridiculous.  He was tough, so it involved Hawke running in cowardly circles avoiding him until Twin Strikes recharged, stab and repeat.  And the first time I fought him, his charge attack glitched Hawke into a corner and the Arishok beat her to death while I shrieked "QUNARI CHEATER! CHEEEEAATER!!!" until my husband came running to see what was wrong.

The epic Destiny trailer music would have been quite out of place.  LOL!

I said I wanted that epic fight, I didn't say I got it! :P

He was a cool character though, I was sad when he died.

As a rogue, I spent most of the fight running around, popping potions, using Backstab and Evade and wishing I had Assassinate. It felt lame at first, then I paused to think... my character is a small woman, and a rogue, fighting a giant man who probably weighs 300-400 pounds. Damn right I am going to use my speed against him.

my mages fight ended up being pretty much the same, except with crushing prison and a couple frost spells to slow him down lol. actually i died for an hour and a half against him till i had to turn it down to casual to beat him then i cranked it back up. he's ROUGH lol.

Ketogan the Serabaas was the most interesting non-major NPC to me. It left me just - in aww of the Qunari. That dedication to their beliefs all the way to the very end. Amazing. That encounter made me truly appreciate Sten in DAO. Also the Qunari redesigns change my entire mental vision of those "parties" they throw when a "Great Hero" dies in service of the Qun.

I found Ketogan interesting as well. Qunari just seem to be noteworthy in general.

I liked the Arishok so much that I literally kept reloading my save to play through various different options trying not to fight him. But of course, you still had to, because DA2 only offers the semblance of big choices.

I liked him so much that I was really hoping he'd turn out to be a secret companion or something. :P And then when he killed himself I was like :o:crying:.

All of the Qunari really. I love them, especially their new design. I'd love a game in Par Vollen playing as a Qunari.
