I just want to save him, his path just isn't fair....  I hate feeling remorse in a game.:(

But man, its all a set up. 1) The Chantry Conspirators and their trifling, and 2) Its the way of the Qun. Ketogan is of the Qun, the fact he was seperated from his handler for so long meant he could have been "irreversibly contaminated" in any manner and thus he had to be "taken care of". There is no "winning" its a lose-lose.

But I know the feeling I thought maybe, just maybe I had made a friend.

I had the same feeling. I was sad when he burned himself. He... was definitely a badass Qunari, one that I wished I could see in the game a few more times. And the music that played during the conversation with him..... was..... just beautiful

They better make it where I can play a ketojan in a DLC :( I loved Sten in the original (minus his design) they should bring him back with the new qunari art style :)00000

You do realize Sten genuinely has no horns, right?

Do they not, I've wanted to read more into it, its more of a status symbol to their authority over the qunari?

I admired him - and respected his decision. Self-regulating mages is why the Qunari don't need Circles.

((We still don't know enough about them to understand why they wear the masks and sew their mouths shut - so to say it's torture is wrong until we find out otherwise. Remember - Ketojen got to tell the Qunari with the control rod that he wanted to speak.))

Interestingly - if you tell the Qunari with the control-rod that you're a mage - he panics. Evidently, it's the perceived deception that you could have worked magic against him. He's not afraid of hearing Ketojen speak because evidently he knows it is occuring.

He's a part of the Beresaad, Qunari who are born without horns. They're like ambassadors of the Qun as a result. They're regarded highly if I remember right.

When I first played DA 2 I though it was the new art design that changed the anatomy of the Qunari.. I was praising the new design saying omg I love the qunari more (even though I liked zevran more in the old art design :P)..they just look so much more epic than the old design ..... Though..they stayed true to the whole attitude that made me love sten's (dragon age 1) personality.

I think you misinterpret Ketojen's response. The other Qunari responds with "Are you sure you want to do it here?", implying that Ketojen said he wanted to die there and not the compound.

Also, the other Qunari will attack you even if you hand Ketojan over and aren't a mage, because Hawke may have been corrupted by demons in Ketojan's words.

We do know though. They sew their mouths shut so they cannot speak and spread demons. The Qunari apparently believe that possession can happen if merely spoken to by a mage. As such, they control their Mages extremely harshly, the mask, collar, and mouth sewing are all part of it.

But most of the Qunari believe so strongly in the Qun that they willingly subject themselves to this treatment for the percieved greater good. Don't know if you can call it torture if the target is willing.

And sure, their mages are self-regulating, but that's because they beleive the propaganda about themselves just as much as everyone else does.
